These ruff-in boxes are great for new construction. This particular house has an outside unit on each end, that each supports three inside heads. Copper line-sets and control wires neatly fold into this cans and your condensate drain can hook-up directly to the built-in drain pan tap. They have cut away access doors, that when properly cut can act as temporary covers to keep out sheet rock mud, dust etc. They are pricey, but the alternative was cutting and mounting several 2x blocks to hold the copper and control wires in place. As you can see by the picture, they fit perfectly into a normal 2x4 wall stud placement. First pic is the rough-in box, and second is the exterior box that is adequate for three line-sets to exit in one place. (sold separately)
