I got a lemon. Returning and eagerly awaiting a second (functional) unit.
UPDATE (22 March 2022):New unit arrived yesterday and started up perfectly. As for a laptop, it's perfectly functional. The design is nice, the keyboard feels nice (trackpad takes some getting used to clicking), there are enough ports for the peripherals I use, and it's run older games for 5 hours straight with negligible heat. I haven't tested the webcam and microphone yet.I don't play new or graphic-intensive games, but this ran very well on older games (Team Fortress 2, Spec Ops: The Line, Magic the Gathering 2014) and some newer ones (Deep Rock Galactic). I plan to run Halo Infinite and Outer Wilds later this week and expect it to perform well.I will keep this updated as my time with this computer progresses. 5/5___________________________________________________________________OLD REVIEW (20 March 2022):TL;DR - I'm sure the laptop is great but the one I received is defective (can't charge - motherboard issue). I am returning it to Amazon and have ordered another one, as I'm sure a functioning unit will meet my expectations for this product. I will update my review when my second order arrives. As for now, 1 star for defective product.I wanted a budget gaming laptop to replace my retired ASUS G55VW (2011). I chose this model due to its strong specs for a budget device, including an RTX 3050Ti (midrange for graphics cards in 2021 but supports the burgeoning ray-tracing technology used in current games), Core i7 CPU, 1 TB SSD storage, and 16GB memory. I also chose this because I wanted a 17-inch screen. The price point maxed out my acceptable budget range (~$1200).I believe this laptop is a good choice for me considering these specs and the price, and I look forward to trying it out.HOWEVER, the model I received appears to be defective - I believe I got a lemon. Upon unboxing, plugging the charger into the laptop did not illuminate the 'charging' light on the laptop, even after trying different electrical outlets and surge protectors. I took it to a local computer repair shop and the tech confirmed the charger itself was functional, as his voltmeter reported 19+ V. Upon opening the device and testing it, he concluded that something was wrong with the motherboard that prevented charging (I am unfamiliar with computers and cannot relay the significance of what he said).I filed for a return-and-replace with Amazon; they accepted the return but denied the replacement - likely so I couldn't keep both laptops and run. The laptop is currently repackaged and I will drop it off at UPS for a return in the next couple of days.I immediately ordered another unit, as this model was my first choice. I expect the second product to work just fine and meet my purchasing expectations, and eagerly await its arrival. I understand defective products are produced and shipped as a natural part of the production process, and do not consider this representative of Acer. While I'm sure the product will meet my expectations, I am saddened to receive a defective model. I will provide an updated review when my second order arrives.

I’ve officially transcended
I grew up playing consoles my whole life, from the NES to the PS5. Never care about pc gaming. My son wanted Minecraft mods, so we got this as a birthday present. And I’ll probably never buy another game on my Ps5 lol. I’m officially a Pc gamer, my son can wait and play his mine craft mods later. I’m playing Age of Mythology, Warzone, Octopath Traveler. I’m playing whatever I want, with Ultra settings because this laptop is a beast like that.I appreciate the larger screen, since I was playing on large TVs over the years. Yeah it’s 3ms delay and not 1, oh well I’m still knocking down 10-20 on Resurgence. The FPS upgrade compared to the Ps5 just blew my mind. Every game is so smooth and silky. I love this laptop, the wave of RGB lights across the keyboard looks cool, my kid loves it. I can also plug in my DualSense Edge, and just play right away. I love it.I use an older 2017 laptop for work, and just daily use compared to the Nitro, the Nitro is basically on Aderall programs open faster, web browsing is faster. The download speed on the Nitro literally maxes out my internet speeds. 80gb downloads in less than 10mins.Before I bought it I asked a friend about it, he told me it’s basically the equivalent of a Walmart laptop, I said oh well, it’s for my kid, I’m not going over 1300. Now I think he’s redacted. Because this thing is a beast, even if they sell it at Walmart lol.Had it for a month now, my free month of gamepass is about to end, it’s not worth paying for anyway. The games are old and not worth the annual price. But Ive already built a decent steam library.Just buy it already, stop reading reviews. Get a 2 year protection plan, you can return it no matter what happens to it. So you’re good to go brother.

Love it Nitro AN17-734A
The media could not be loaded. I love it. Been using it for a few weeks and very happy . Runs World of Warcraft on ultra with no lag. I did upgrade the ram to 32. Great picture. The sound is very low quality but I'm not into music on a laptop. I use my Samsung live earbuds and I'm good to go

A good gaming computer but not suggested for business purposes.
This is a well made computer mostly for gaming. The image is good, not great. sound quality and volume is poor.. To hear anything i will need aux speakers. Keyboard is convenient but seems slow to load pages. I eliminated many apps upon start up but has not helped much with speed. Its loaded with a lot of apps which bog down the system and some of which you cannot delete. Keyboard is excellent and great backlit keyboard.for gaming I guess it would be fine, but general computing, business, drawings, engineering, etc I would suggest looking elsewhere. Its surprisingly heavy and not suggested for travel at all. OK for home use.for my purpose, which is business and drawing review and design, video conferencing it falls short.

Great gaming laptop
I’ve had this laptop for years and it’s been great. Zero issues. I mainly game with it so it’s always plugged in - don’t use the battery much, so can’t comment on that. Fans can be a little noisy if that bothers you. Very happy I purchased it.
