How could one not LOVE this?!?
How could one not LOVE this?!? I usually hate kitchen gadgets but I was so tired of chopping/ slicing garlic by hand so I gave it a try. With this little baby, I am saving a TREMENDOUS amount of time. I am not concerned about the blades bending. Whoever had that issue must have tried to use a giant elephant clove. I usually buy the regular garlic, but the larger ones. I peel the clove, place one at a time in, and slowly press the lid down. It takes all of 2 seconds tops to cut each clove. It comes with no instructions soooo:-The 2 blades (one inside and the other on the bottom, pry up to remove / press down to secure so you can interchange them and keep the one not in use from getting lost (nice)- There is a screen on the underside of the lid that comes off so you can clean it. It pulls all of the mess off with it when removed- The bowl slides out sideways to remove from deviceThere is no where near the waste of garlic that you get with a press. The clean up is easy. I have just been rinsing and leaving to air dry. Now I don't have to use processed chopped garlic for weeknight meals. Yippee!

Easy as Pushing a Button!
No Fuss, no mess! This is the best press I have used to date. Put in garlic, press, pull out container. Done. It rises above all others in how neat and clean it is. Small, easy to store and solidly build. And the bright colour! Magnificent. The only drawback so far is that changing blades is very difficult. It took away that fifth star. Other than that, perfect!Try it, you will never go back to a handled press again.

Eh
This item has great reviews, so I'm hoping that I'm wrong... it feels so cheap that it's definitely going to break if I try to slice or mince a whole clove. I ended up slicing the clove into 4 pieces before I used the item, so that I didn't break it (which pretty much defeated the purpose and my hands still smelled like garlic).

It minces garlic PERFECT. And then you just open the drawer up
Where has this been all my life? Do you know how many garlic presses & fingers I have gone through over the years? It minces garlic PERFECT. And then you just open the drawer up, enjoy that perfect garlic aroma and add it to whatever recipe you are preparing. And clean up is so simple. You don't have to get out a bottle brush or a high pressure hose and say horrible words under your breath to clean it. And the price is wonderfully low. My favorite color is neon lime green & I no longer have to put the ambulance on alert when slicing & dicing the stinky rose.Vampires should fear this.

It worked great up until the point that it didn't
I loved this gadget, right up to the point that one of the middle blades came loose. I wasn't able to knock it back into place and ended up just removing it. It still works but I end up with a group of pieces that are twice as large as the others. Really disappointed and while I can still use it, I'll probably end up tossing it.

clean-up
I was able to mince the cloves of garlic very quickly and that was great, however when I was trying to clean it that took time. there was crushed garlic stuck unbeaten the groves of the lid and that was difficult to remove, I had to use the tip of a paring knife to remove garlic pieces an d the little brush was useless.

Not for ginger
This easily minces garlic but oh my, mincing ginger had me cleaning and cleaning and cleaning with a toothpick to get rid of the fibers. Plus it's difficult to get the minced stuff out of the plastic container. I thought the brush would work, but not as well as I had hoped.

Wish this really chopped a whole clove cleanly.
One garlic glove with the grid patterned blades resulted in half a chopped clove with the rest throughly flattened left on the top of the blades. The plastic pins that pushes the clove into the blades is difficult to clean as well with garlic pieces remaining in the plastic pins after removing the plastics sheaf that is supposed to help clean the pins. The blades need to be sharper to get full clove chopping with out residual clove remaining unchopped.
