**5.0 out of 5 stars** **Fantastic GMT field watch , punches way above its price!** I picked up the Seiko 5 Sports SSK023 (black dial GMT) and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. This thing is a sleeper hit – great build, super versatile, and it looks sharp on the wrist. Right out of the box, the watch feels solid: 39.4mm case is perfect (not too big, not too small), the curved Hardlex crystal has a nice vintage vibe, and the LumiBrite on the hands and markers glows like crazy at night. The fixed five-sided GMT bezel gives it that tool-watch character, and the red GMT hand pops beautifully against the black dial. It's a caller GMT (using the 4R34 movement), but for travel or tracking a second zone, it works flawlessly. Where it really shines for me is the timekeeping. Mine has been running **extremely accurately** staying within a couple seconds per day, which is honestly comparable to my Rolex Explorer II GMT in real-world use. I was pleasantly surprised; no big swings like some cheaper automatics. Power reserve is solid at around 41 hours, and it hacks and hand-winds smoothly. The only minor thing (and it's not really a complaint) is that I swapped the stock bracelet almost immediately for an aftermarket solid clasp and solid end-link oyster-style bracelet from Long Island Watch shop. They make a custom one specifically fitted for the SSK023 (20mm lug width), and wow – what a difference! The stock one is decent, but the Islander oyster upgrade feels more premium, hugs the wrist better, and gives it that classic Rolex-ish polish without breaking the bank. Highly recommend if you're picky about bracelets. Overall, this is one of the best value watches I've owned. Great for everyday wear, looks good dressed up or casual, and the GMT function is actually useful. If you're looking for an affordable, reliable field GMT that doesn't scream "budget," grab this one you won't regret it. Highly recommend!

I’ve been wearing this Seiko 5 GMT for a few days now, and overall I really like it. I’ve always been a big Seiko fan and couldn’t resist this one. Pros: • Sleek, modern design that looks great on the wrist • Keeps accurate time right out of the box • The GMT feature is a standout—I love being able to track a second time zone Cons: • The face is smaller than I expected based on the photos • The convex crystal and deep-set dial make it tough to read at certain angles • The crystal is highly reflective, so visibility can be a challenge in bright light or uneven lighting It’s still a solid everyday watch, especially if you appreciate mechanical timepieces and need the second time zone. Just be aware that legibility might take a hit in some conditions.

My fifth Seiko. All of them still work, even the dive watch I purchased in 1975. Can’t go wrong with a Seiko.

This watch is a good deal if bought on sale. It’s easy to set, well-built, and the dial has great visibility, similar to a pilot’s watch. However, pay close attention to sizing — it appears smaller in real life than in photos. On my 7-inch wrist, it fits fine but looks undersized. Without the size issue, it’s a 4-star watch, but the smaller appearance drops it to 3.5 stars.

I'm a watch collector with about 25 watches including Rolex and Breitling, but this Seiko has become one of my favorite "go-to" watches. I love the GMT complication with the fixed bezel since I almost never rotate the bezel on my other GMT watches anyway (tracking 2 time zones is plenty for me). The bracelet is also high quality and very comfortable once sized properly. I highly recommend this watch to anyone looking for a good, rugged, every day watch.

Gorgeous watch as always from Seiko. You and change the band for the frabic band that they sell for more of a "sporty" look. I thought it looked amazing both ways. Almost like you're able to dress it up or down (like a more casual put together outfit)
