I'm very happy with this buy.
The boards are made of pine wood. The surface is a bit rough and may need a run with a small grain sand paper. It's a good idea to cover them in vegetable oil, leave over night, wash and repeat other night, then the wood will have much better feeling and won't bend after washing and drying. The product has a good value. I would buy it again.

Waste
Don't bother buying these. They are rubbish.Do not emerge them in water because they will have a rough texture to the wood afterwards. No point in having them as a chopping board without washing it.Says they are dishwaher safe but once they come out of the dishwasher they were broken in 3-4 bits.Had arranged to have them send back and another lot came and the same thing has happened. Now, they want to charge us for damaged boards.

Dough Board - Domestic 906264 Double Slatted Wooden Dough Board 60 cm x 42 cm
I'm a beginner to breadmaking and have little experience. After making a few loaves on kitchen counters and the dining room table, I wanted a separate area to knead/rest dough, away from the kitchen so I could make as much mess as I wanted without having to clean up after each knead in case others needed to use the kitchen/table (sourdoughs - take all day!).From what I've seen from videos of other similar boards and from my own experience using it, the design of this dough board means that one end (closest to your body) hangs over the edge of the surface you're working on and the other acts as a stopping point for flour. As you knead away from your body, the dough board hooks onto the work surface and stops the dough board from moving away.So this is what I've found in the last few months.Pros:- The board is big and provides enough space to knead stiff doughs with space either side to place scrapers and excess flour.- It doesn't move as you knead and stops surface flour moving off the board where the top ridge is.- It's big enough to act as a tray and create an area specifically for breadmaking so you can easily move it from one work surface to another.Cons:- The wood finish is quite rough so a lot of small bits come off which isn't pleasant knowing you're kneading sticky dough on it. It's more apparent when you're washing it after a day's worth of kneading - and I don't mean soaking it in water but a quick scrub with warm water after using a dough scraper to remove most of the flour/dough.- There are gaps at both ends where the wood is joined (the hook parts) so flour gets trapped. There's also hardened glue dotted along the gaps which causes the flour to collect if you try to brush along the gap (I don't know how else to clear the flour trapped there).I do really like the idea of this board but the wood finish is quite off-putting and the gaps in the joins make washing a bit tedious.I've since bought a 40cm x 30cm granite worktop saver which I've converted into an oven stone (scraped and removed the rubber feet and adhesive) but have also started using it to knead my wetter doughs on as it's a lot quicker and easier to clean the granite surface. Also, the weight of the stone stops it moving around.I guess you get what you pay for. If the quality/craftsmanship was better, I'd happily pay more as the size, weight and functionality is better than the granite board.Knowing what I know now, I probably wouldn't have bought it. A shame really. Maybe someone will see this review and come up with a better one? But then maybe there's not enough demand...(written 14 May 2012)Update to review (January 2013):I don't like to be wasteful (I try not to be but fail a lot) so I've continued to try and use the board. There are a few changes which I've noticed during use:- The board no longer has as many 'bits' after washing. Maybe it needs to be worn in? Or just used for traditional kneading with flour?- The board still warps a bit after washing but seems to return to shape after drying. I am careful not to 'soak' it when washing and I make sure it's allowed to air properly. The way I use it has changed a little too. I no longer knead on it and I definitely don't put any 'wet' or sticky doughs on it (I use the granite for that). However, I do use it for shaping if I'm working with large quantities that need to be divided and I also flour the surface (I usually use a little oil on the granite). The board has proved particularly useful when making huge, family-sized pizza bases (with really elastic 00 flour) or rolling out many little dumpling pastries.Basically, I keep it dry and floured during use which seems to keep both me and the board happy. I also try not to let flour collect near the joins giving it a good shake during cleaning. So maybe this is how it's meant to be used? (I'm certainly not qualified to say but at least I now have a use for it, albeit only on occasion). All in all, I do really, reeeeally like the size and the ability to move it wherever (because I lack the kitchen space and ideal work surface) so it's a bit frustrating.I still wouldn't buy it though because I don't use it enough to justify having it and I don't really want to use a floured surface more just to increase its usage. Although, if that was my style of baking, I would consider it (but you still have to overcome the initial 'bits' after the first few washes).
