Purchased this to clear overgrown allotment. Once you get the hang of it, this tool is a much more effective way of digging over land and removing weeds. It is also provides very effective and quick way of breaking up heavy clay soil and getting it down to a much finer composition.Both the head and the handle appear to be good quality. I have cleared most of the plot I took over with this and it was much easier than the alternative of digging over the area with a fork.

Never ever used one of these before, had some tree stumps to remove as well as de-turf old uneven lawn, was really dreading the thought having done this type of thing many years ago, read a few reviews about this tool on the net decided to give it a try, best tool I have ever bought for the garden so much easier than spade and fork for digging, made short work of 3 large stumps and roots, now de- turfing the lawn so much easier less strain on arms back and legs.

I needed to dig a 60cm deep, 14 metre long trench. As a not particularly strong middle aged women, I was finding the job pretty touch with a spade. I bought this and it made the job almost easy. My trench is now done. It's very sturdy and when I accidentally hit concrete or stone, it took a chunk out of them with no damage whatsoever to the tool. I think this may be the best garden tool I've ever bought.

Has stood up well to heavy daily use by a groundworker. Unlike many more flashy looking tools.

Excellent tool fo clearing ground and breaking up soil. Very rewarding to use and doesn’t need a lot of effort, the weight of the head does the work.

Great item for the garden. makes digging out deep rooted weeks a doddle. will now try digging a foundation trench for my planned little garden wall, and give you an update on how I got on.

Used these hoes for many years. The staffs break eventually and re order. However, although this one is no different and will do the job it is far too expensive when considering it is a wooden pole and a metal plate. £20 and not £40. There are others at a more attractive price and look the same.

For any one who finds digging with a fork or a spend a bit hard try one of these , this product is well made and Rips up the ground with ease , plus if you use it to just crap the top of the soil it removes weeds quickly would recommend to any budding gardener
