Excellent Firewire IEEE1394 to USB 2.0 Type A connector. Hit's it's rated speeds. Good build quality.

Tried to use it to connect an external hard drive that I know works into a new computer without success. This cable looks fine but it did not work for me.

The cord did not work for me. Wasted money.

I'm gonna have to give up on this one. I tried for days to get this to work with my Win 11 machine and it just won't communicate. A native Firewire port on my older Win 7 laptop works great, but newer laptops don't come with a Firewire port. I was hoping this would bridge the gap and allow me to take advantage of the new faster machine (a mini PC). To be fair, lots of people are having trouble with this, and there are lots of posts about how to install various drivers. None of the ones I tried will work. I can't definitively say it's this cable or an incompatibility, but if you're trying to connect to an older film scanner like the Coolscan 9000 with the software that comes with the machine, even with newer drivers, this likely is not going to work.
