Oceanic Ultra-Dry 2 Snorkel

Help, Can’t Breath! Issue and..
Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I bought this snorkel a year ago when I returned from Cabo. My other snorkel, same brand but cheaper, was, after 7 years of use, staring to really leak badly. I bought this when I got back because I knew I would forget to get a new one when I left for my once a year trip, this year. Dumb mistake. After 4 uses the valve will not release once it closes while snorkeling. I shot a video of me trying to shake it open. This was after it was cleaned thoroughly and dried. Image being out in the ocean and not being able to get any air! LOL. Anyway, I wrote to Oceanic. It way past the 30 day return but maybe they’ll send me a replacement valve. My snorkeling is ruined as the only snorkels here are toys. I’ll update this as to Oceanic’s response. It did a really good job keeping out the water, unfortunately it keeps out the air also!I’ve tried every I can think of. One reviewer said it was a piece of sand causing the flap to stick. I’m thinking this was written by an employee. I always rinse my stuff in fresh water and this snorkel is no different. I have taken it apart and then reassembled. It appears that the posts that are holding the flap in place are square and very rough. I don’t have the tools to try and smooth them out where I’m at. It’s certainly a manufacturing defect but Oceanic won’t stand behind their products. NO RESPOSE FROM OCEANIC!!!!!

Overpriced Snorkel 🤿
This was needed for work. It was made like any other crappy snorkel. I figured it would be nice because of the price but unfortunately I was wrong. The reason I went with this one is because it was semi white and teal and that’s hard to find.

Oceanic Ultra-Dry 2 Snorkel keeps the water out
I always end up breathing in and chocking on sea water at least one time when i use a traditional snorkel. However, the Oceanic Ultra-Dry 2 Snorkel has a flapper that closes when water tries to go down the snorkel tube but stays open for air. I used to have to constantly clear the tube before taking a breath or risk taking water into my lungs (Hard to do when your running low of air in your lungs) This snorkel keeps a large majority of water out of the tube even when you go underwater to look at fish, when you come back up, the tube is usually clear, like magic. It's not 100% fool proof but a lot better than the traditional snorkel Makes snorkeling a lot more enjoyable. Highly recommend!!!

I can breathe!
I'm a stocky guy with some big lungs, and this snorkel can deliver the air capacity goods. Some snorkels are too small and I feel like I'm suffocating since I can't breathe enough air. With this snorkel, I can breathe normally and not worry about water entering the pipe or gasping for air. I had my last Oceanic dry snorkel for many years, but the float started sticking, so I thought it was time to upgrade to the latest version. Glad I did. It's a worthwhile investment for pleasant snorkelling adventures.

Works great. Easy to lose
I dive recreationally, and have been doing so for years. Believe it or not, in the 5+ years of free diving, I have never lost a snorkel. My first dive with this snorkel was exciting. Works great and was step up from my last snorkel- $30-40 range model. Unfortunately, the hook that keeps the snorkel attached to the mask strap has a large gap on it. That large gap in the clip can cause the snorkel to disengage from the mask when or swimming around. That's what happened to me.A great snorkel is useless if it is sitting on the bottom of the ocean somewhere.I recommend finding a snorkel like the atomic, which has a CLOSED hook which secures the snorkel to the mask.Happy diving.

awesome purchase experience
I reviewed snorkels and this kept coming up as the best. I am thrilled with it. As good as advertised.

Such an improvement over low profile snorkels!
Purchased one of these snorkels for my wife before a trip to Cancun as it would be her first experience in the open ocean I didn't want it to be spoiled by a mouthful of salt water. She loved it and after taking a few mouthfuls of salt water myself using my old faithful low profile snorkel, I also purchased the ultra dry snorkel. Works great after taking it through some paces to get familiar with it. Still feels strange not having to have a solid blast of air ready to clear out the snorkel tube. I am a believer and can't wait to add it to my Scuba kit as well.

Great complement to our Oceanic mask
Purchased this snorkel with out our new Oceanic mask and super happy with both. So far, just used in the pool but performed exactly what we needed once diving underwater to shut off the air preventing water from entering. Should work perfect in ocean waves on our upcoming dive trip.
