Salewa footwear
Bought these Salewa footwear after getting Plantar Fasciitis in my right foot. I would say this choice of footwear was a blessing, within 3 days of wearing, i was able to walk without pain and a pronounced limp due to pain. I couldn't believe the transformation in my foot and it's down to this footwear brand. I would honestly recommend especially people who walk regularly, you need solid footwear. Salewa provides that with sturdy, robust footwear, as a bonus, in my opinion, there styles look fashionable and on trend. If you walk 10,000+ steps daily i think decent footwear is essential, the Salewa brand will meet your requirements helping to protect your feet over uneven terrain. Do yourself a favour and try them for yourself, you can always send them back if inappropriate. I would also recommend inserting Plantar Fasciitis heels, this helps distribute the upper body weight evenly over the foot. It pushes the weight towards the front of the foot, it feels like your walking on the balls of your feet. I would also highly recommend if your considering buying Salewa to order a half size up. Example if your a general size 8, like myself you will need a size 8.5. The footwear is so compact it compromises the overall size slightly, so i suggest a half size up. I had to buy a second pair with extra half size to fully appreciate the difference, which is clear regarding distance of walk. For comfort and practicality it's best to go with a half size up. I hope this review is helpful in making your decision to go with Salewa. Good luck....

Well made but heavy
There are well made and look like they will wear well. Only dislike is the weight, im used to Scarpa and these are considerably heavier.

Really tough walking shoes but dropped to bits after 5 weeks.
Great shoes, really tough and they look super hard wearing. They were really stiff when they arrived and I wasn’t sure they were going to work for what I needed however after a few weeks of daily wear they are feeling good. UPDATED Returned to Amazon as the sole came away after 5 weeks of light use. Would not recommend anymore. Shame as they had promise.

Super comfortable
I do a lot of walking and hiking, so these are not my first pair of Salewa shoes. The fit is snug, so you are best to try a size first. I find that after about 5 miles, they are broken in and fit like soft trainers; very comfortable. The soles will wear, but they are very grippy and give you confidence, especially on down hill stretches.

Stiff and Heavy but useable in moderation
I normally but Scarpa but their pricing has become a little crazy. Looking for an alternative, I purchased these. Not expensive but certainly not 'cheapies' so I had reasonable expectations of them. Out of the box they felt rather heavy, stiff but seem quite sturdy. Every pair of Scarpa i have had felt like slippers and were instantly comfortable, these were nowhere near that. They felt just as heavy on and although the sole was very grippy, it lacks any flexibility. The lace up is similar to Scarpa in that it allows adjustment along most of the top of the shoe. This allowed some opening of the width across the toes which i found a little narrow and had rubbed. The lace loops are very tight making this adjustment more difficult than it needed to be. Support is fine but due to the soles rigidity walking feels slightly unnatural and laboured. After several outings and many miles, they don't feel broken in at all, in fact, not even starting to feel it. Waterproofing seems good with no egress so far. Not perfect by a long shot but useable. For me, despite the cost, it'll be Scarpa next time.

Robust, well made shoe
Had these shoes for a month now, walking several miles a day across fields and roads. They are very robust, well made shoes. The first thing I'd say is, like so many other reviews, they come up smaller than you would expect. I am a size 11 all day long so ordered 11.5 and 12. My toes were pushed against the front of the 11.5, the 12 fits great. I think this comes down to the padding, they are very well padded shoes with very comfortable ankle cushioning. The sole is firm and feels heavy duty giving great grip along muddy field tracks. That sole might not have much 'give' in smaller sizes. Note also, the robust construction and padding add to the weight - my 12s weigh 750g per shoe. There's been no hint of any moisture coming through on rainy days in wet fields although I haven't needed to take them through deep water. Beware, the Night Black Kamille that I bought are actually navy blue. I was expecting black, maybe it's just the colour control on my PC; I went back online to check and suppose I can detect a bit of blue in the picture. Fortunately I like the blue anyway. A very well made shoe, just make sure to go for the bigger size.

Brilliant.
Well designed Salewe, I’ve spent years in boots and had some top brand names in training/trail shoes; but these like Alpine Mt Boot are brilliant. Shaped foot. Wider fit to compensate for foot spread when walking! Great toe protection. Some may say they feel heavy but once on you hardly notice it. It’s early days to see how the heel sole holds up, bu quality may prove me wrong.

Man muss also präzise gehen/steigen. Dann findet man jeden winzigen Tritt. Ideal für Klettersteige bis E. Super Sohle

Excellentes chaussures.
