Sense and Nonsense About Crime, Drugs, and Communities: A Policy Guide

I brought this book for my Crime Prevention and Crime Control Class. So for me it wasn't about the the reading material. My worry was more so if this was a legit company and if the company would send me the right book. And they did. I love that they have affordable options you can choose from as far as a used or new book. I would recommend students to buy this book. very affordable.

I used this book for my senior writing class in college. It was pretty interesting and read more like a novel then a standard textbook. The author looks at the topics discussed from a very particular view point therefor this book is a "little" biased. If you look at everything critically, its not hard to find flaws in anything. I just wish the author would have given a few solutions to all the problems he pointed out.

As a criminology student this is a required book, however I've been recommending it to friends and family. If you want to understand drug policy, drug incarceration and the effects and defects, this is the book for you.Also, buy this for anyone in your family who says things like "he should be locked up for life regarding drug offenses"

This is a thought provoking book with a serious "liberal" stance. It is good for spurring conversation that questions policy. Drawbacks are also that the author overlooks some policies that fit his agenda. Overall, once of the better CJ books I have read even though it has an atypical style.

This is one of the required texts in a course I was taking so it wasn't selected by my choosing. That being said, the text is quite good. It tries to breech a convoluted topic and does so with little overt bias.

I received item quickly. Stated it was in good condition and came that way. Cover bent and a little highlighting and some underlining in pencil. Otherwise, item is great condition!

This book was ordered due to a graduate course being taken. The book is not a difficult read.
