Soft Silicone Medical Tape for Sensitive Skin – Surgical Tape for Dressings and Other Medical Devices – 2.5cm x 3m - 1 roll

This Opti-Heal Soft Silicone Medical Tape for Sensitive Skin, is exactly what I was after. I have bought it to shield the rough edges of my MedicAlert bracelet from my clothing and skin. The bracelet part of it, is made of stainless steel mesh - it was cheap and cheerful, and it serves an important purpose, so, I don't want to get rid of it, or as yet replace it, but, I'm fed up, that there is a hole in my brand new pyjama bottoms, because of it snagging on them! This tape is super-smooth, very soft to the touch; it's not thick/ bulky, it has a low profile; the adhesive is strong without being painful to remove, and, there is no edge-lift; it doesn't feel tight, it doesn't pull, at all on the skin, with movement; the edges are very clean, and free of sticky residue, so, they're not picking up any fluff from my clothing; it sticks back down very well after repositioning; it's very easy to cut - I love that you can decide on the length of each piece - it's just one long roll to cut from, not pre-sized/ sectioned pieces; there is no irritation or discomfort from the adhesive of any kind - my sensitive skin is very happy indeed. There is the added bonus of the tape keeping the bracelet in place - at times, the magnet would shift along the band, loosening it, allowing it to twist around my wrist, with it having to be re-adjusted, so, there's no more of that dramarama, either. I'm chuffed to bits with it - I think it's great value for money, and this 3 metre roll will last an absolute age. I'd buy this again, happily, without hesitation. It says on the box, to only use each cut strip once. Obviously, if you have a known sensitivity, or an allergy to silicone, you should not use it. If you are uncertain, if you have this sensitivity, cut a very small piece from the roll, 1cm x 1cm would be ample, and place it on the inside of your forearm for 24 hours - this should be more than enough time to see if there is a reaction; if any reaction manifests - heat, redness, itching, swelling, any kind of rash - immediately remove the small test patch, and apply an anti-histamine cream. It would be wise to have an anti-histamine cream on hand, before testing. Any kind of cream/ lotion, along with sweat, and sebum/ oil on your skin, will likely affect the adhesion, so, make sure the area is clean and bone-dry before application. I reckon, a medical alcohol wipe would be perfect for that task. It also says on the box, that you should not place it directly onto a wound, or use on infected wounds, as well as, not to use it past its expiry date - it is 2030 on mine, more than four years away. It notes also, you should not use it in such a way that it restricts circulation. If any issue arises, I will update this review.

Love this silicone tape a lot. I’ve used a few but this one feels the best quality and the stickiness last. Will defo recommend

This tape is brilliant. Usually have a red sore mark from micropore and normal plasters. Don’t really know it’s there. Expensive but worth it for comfort. Quite wide but in cut in half.

Does what it needs to. secure and easy to apply but also not too brutal when removing

the tape is good but cheaper options are available. The problem was that the box was very badly damaged and the reel of tape unwound

Absolutely useless ,no adhesion at all,loses any stickiness almost immediately after applying ,certainly not water-proof .give it a miss .

east to use stays put but does not irritate and is easy to get off
