Hard to fault for the price!
This set of 12 acrylic paints is excellent value, at less then £4 on Prime! The range of colours is great for a beginner. I'm more used to painting in oil, so I was a bit puzzled to find some of the colours I use a lot were not included - such as Phthalo Blue. Once I started using the paints, I realised that acrylic paints behave differently from oils, especially in their transparency, and the supplied Ultramarine Blue is an acceptable alternative. The rest of the colours are exactly what I'd expect and hope to find in a starter set. I tend to paint with a fairly limited palette (mostly because I can't afford to buy loads of paints), and this set has everything I need. The texture and consistency is great. Again, being used to oils I found acrylics on canvas has a bit of a learning curve, but I do use acrylics on my miniatures so I'm reasonably familiar with their characteristics. For anyone wanting to try acrylic paints without breaking the budget, this set is great.

first attempt with acrylic paints
This was my first attempt at using acrylic paints, as I usually use water colours, and it went well. The paint is of a nice consistency to work with and went on easily. The colours are not exactly spot on to the colour on the tube, but for the price I think that can be forgiven.Overall for a starter who just wants to practice and not concerned over quality these are excellent for the price point.

Very nice for a canvas
The colouring for these seemed okay, they are pretty close to the colour band on the tube. The paint is quite thick but still alot thinner than expensive paints. its abit different than im used to, im not a full time artist to say the least, and being able to use colours that dont directly fall into each other or smudge together when on the canvas is great and i found it much easier to work with as i could mix and lay colours as needed but they dont always seem to overlay perfectly.Id say they are great for a starting set or to use with a small piece.I like the variety and strong colour palette with tubes that reseal well so there is no waste.

colours non-toxic = peace of mind
I appreciate that the colours are non-toxic - that gives me peace of mind when my little one is getting creative. The paints have a slightly thinner consistency than professional-grade acrylics, which makes them easy for small hands. If you're looking for an affordable, kid-friendly acrylic paint set to encourage creativity, I'd highly recommend this one! It's a great way to get kids excited about painting.

Decent Acrylic Paint – Not Artist Quality Though
This is a decent set of acrylic colors, best suited for beginners or children; it not not artist quality at all. These paints blend well, but they are thinner than artist quality paints usually are, with a lower pigment quality, which means the opacity is low to mid-grade. In fact, even the black looks closer to a dark gray than true black. It takes several coats of color with these paints to cover a darker color in the background, whereas with my artist quality paints, I can cover black with one coat of a lighter color (including white). You don’t need to have a wet paintbrush with these paints though, they already have enough water in the paint. Because of the thin consistency of these paints, some of the colors behave more like watercolor paints than acrylics.Overall, these are decent paints that would make a very nice gift for a budding young artist. They won’t work well for some crafting projects, like rock painting, but they are good for painting on paper or canvas.

Fine for a Beginner
This was a nice set for me as I am a total beginner when it comes to painting, but I like to create a background for my embroidery designs with some colour on fabric.I used these with stencils as my design skills are limited. This is a pack of twelve vibrant acrylic colours in 12ml tubes. You only need a little bit as I found it went far and I still have lots left for other projects. The end results looked good, so I am happy with them and would recommend, especially given the low price.

A decent enough set for the price...
I got these for my old mother, who always paints and draws for her various evening classes. Whilst she mentioned how they were good enough for blending and quick daily paintings, they are apparently rather 'thin' and therefore have difficulty in covering other colours. The viscosity just isn't as much as with the bigger brands. So basically a paint for smaller, or less important paintings.
