Q: What are bioGo sponges made from?

These bioGo sponges are made from 100% tree cellulose, fully plant-based :) our other versions have a coconut husk scrubby side.

Q: What is the point in compressing them for sale?

The compression tech means that each sponge will arrive the width of a normal playing card. That means much 10 times less packaging is used, and the carbon footprint of each sale is considerably lower! Now that's something worth shouting about.

Q: How long does each sponge last?

bioGo sponges tend to last at least 20% longer than normal plastic sponges. If you'd like to stretch the life of each sponge further, simply put them in the washing machine to give them a new lease of life!

Q: Is there any plastic in the packaging?

Our products usually come completely free of plastic in the packaging. In this case, these compressed sponges need a compost bioplastic bag to ensure they do not expand while waiting to be bought. The box is made from recycled cardboard.

Q: Are bioGo sponges hygienic?

Moreso than the traditional ones. Due to the porous nature of the tree cellulose material, they are quick drying and therefore more hygienic! Many alternative sponges stay moist for longer and that means bacteria builds up much faster.
