Portable, sharp, handy
As far as what I will use this for (hunting), this is a well built, sharp hatchet that is very portable. Not only would it be a good hiking tool and camping tool, but I even plan on trying it on some wooden spoon making. We'll done

Well made item
Hatchet is made well, heavy, great edge. Haven't used yet but everything came as described. Will update once I put it through it's paces

Hatchet good, leather bad
Holding up well for splitting kindling and fatwood. Leather holder fell apart almost immediately. If that is you reason for choosing this one I would look elsewhere.

Love this hatchet
This is my go to hatchet. I have used it on multiple occasions at the range and camping. The blade is pretty sharp at first for small things but if you are doing some serious chopping you may want to use the puck that comes with it to hone in that edge. Has a really nice weight to it. The sheath is nothing special not super durable. If you are going to hammer anything with the back of it take the sheath off or you will split the end of it like I did. I would recommend making your own with some thicker leather. Besides that this this is a winner it cuts wood and goes where you swing it. The puck, sheath, and belt holster are a bonus.

Sturdy and sharp
Feels great in hand. Quality piece. Sharp enough to shave with!

Used once and blade pitted!
I used this to cut kindling while camping, no more than 1 inch in diameter and the blade completely pitted like it was made of aluminum! I'm very disappointed!

Nice li’l hatchet. A step or so above most.
This is a quality camp axe/hatchet, with a 12 inch length and a 3 inch beard/edge.- Both the head and haft have a good cut and finish. The axe feels good in the hand all around…full-swing grip to choked-up/shaving. A 12 inch hatchet “feels” a little short…a longer haft is better of course. But this axe is definitely a step or so above the 7 inch handles, and also the 12 inch “metal cylinder haft” budget camp axes with narrower handles.- The listing states that the haft is made hickory, which is stronger that many hatchets often made with a softer beech wood. So this hatchet should hold up well with use. And if it does ever break, it is can be replaced with another commercial haft (or a carved one if in the wild if needed).- The listing states “spring” steel which could be any composition really, but likely a higher carbon alloy. High-carbon is stronger and better for edge/strength/durability…stainless better for rust prevention and pliability...and variants/alloys in-between. So the steel composition is unknown/undeclared…but regardless, it’s still steel.- This axe arrives sharpened. You may want to refine the edge, but it’s ready for use out of the box.- It’s designed with a decent and robust “hammer” backside, though, as with all axes be wary of malformation or cracking of the eye with heavy use as a hammer.- There is a drilled hole for, and with, a lanyard. Good for hanging, but more so to mitigate flying/damage from slippage while using.- Leather sheath and holster. Minimally designed, but appreciated inclusions and good for securing-to/carrying-on a belt, but also to a pack, vehicle/ATV mount, etc.- And it comes with a “hockey puck” sharpening stone. Again, nice inclusion!Bottom Line:This is a quality 12 inch axe with a 3 inch beard. Such small axes have their limitations, but are very portable and carry-able. This axe has a good cut and finish. The “spring” steel composition is likely hard and durable, but unknown…also unknown on the edge hardening. All in, this is a nice little axe with good (and somewhat expected) accessories. There are a few unknowns on the steel, but this seems to be a quality axe, with appreciable accessories. Giving it the fiver.
