Fantastic piece of art! Directions are pretty clear. I've assembled several wooden puzzles so i new what to expect. Not too easy, but definitely not too hard. Took about 2 hours to assemble. Take your time! One hint: In step 6, after you put the one wheel on top of the other, and before you mount them on the main hub, use 2 small clamps or tape to hold the opposite ends to them together during the rest of the assembly. That makes sure they are positioned correctly. Posted a vid to Fb folks loved it!

It is beautiful but I just assembled and it makes a clicking sound and don't know how to stop it.

The kinetic wall art came with wrenches for assembly which took just under two hours including hanging it on the wall. Additional tools needed for mounting were, a bubble level for the mounting holes, power drill with bits, screwdriver, and a pencil for marking the holes. The assembly can be completed by one person. I advise adding the weights after mounting. The instructions have caution symbols at steps that require attention to the orientation of the pieces. Pay extra attention during those steps. It is best to do the assembly on a large table with plenty of lighting because the instructions are dark and it is challenging to see contrasting details. Each piece was quality cut without any burrs or abrasive edges. There were two small chips out of the wood color that needed to be covered with wood stain or polish (not included). It is a good size art piece, approximately 28" diameter by 5" depth, that needs space for the counterweight (can) to drop. It requires that the can is filled to approximately 19 ounces. I used pebbles in a tall empty can as the weight. I tried rice but it was too light weight. From the top of the arms to the bottom of the weight is 96 inches (see photo). The arms are approximately 13 inches above the mounting holes. The instructions advise to leave 180 cm (70.86") beneath the mounting holes. I suggest a greater clearance or dry fitting before drilling mounting holes (please use care when handling the unit). It is best installed on a flat wall without any moldings. The wall I chose to install it on has chair rail moldings that periodically interfere with the weight dropping. The kinetic motion is activated by pulling the small counter weight down which winds the unit for motion that lasts approximately 15 minutes. It is a peaceful and calming display that is visually interesting to watch. Just as a note, as the counterweights shift the unit does make a tick sound every so often. It is a very interesting piece to watch and is worth the price and it would be way more expensive if assemble.

This was fun and simple to assemble. Most parts are preassembled, it's just attaching the subassemblies and the blades. It took me about an hour and a half to complete even with dropping the tiny allen wrench every turn of the small screws, LOL. You do need a weight for inside the barrel of .55kg and a 19oz soda can or salt or rice is recommended. I ended up using a baggy of loose change and a kitchen scale to get it to EXACTLY 550g. It's an interesting curiosity and fills wall space, but honestly (and why I docked a star)- at full retail price of $250 I feel that this is lacking value. It is the standard wood craft plywood with a brown stain. The stain is dull and splotchy in areas and more noticeable once assembled. There are nicks where the laser cut pieces were detached from the sheet after staining and areas of splinters that were unsanded and especially the surround for the weight was splintery and preassembled, having to be deconstructed and not shown in the instructions. The cylinder part of the weight is brown paper that you roll up and insert to cover your weight. Overall the brown wood is flat and dry looking. After getting it mounted to the wall, I went back and evened out the stain with dark wood scratch cover and lemon oil since it seemed too "dry" looking. The oil really added some depth and brought out some wood grain as well. The wood sheets are very thin and delicate and susceptible to warping in humidity which could cause the blades to hit as there is tight space between them. There is a clicking as the gears switch direction- mildly annoying. The movement lasts for about 15 minutes on a full draw of the cord, but the weight can clunk/ drop down substantially and suddenly, so you really have to have a clear wall below the piece or the weight will hit it/ knock it down. It also freaks out the house animals when the weight drops suddenly. I have lots of pets and the dustiest house, so I dread having to dust this and not damage it. It was fun and it's an interesting piece, but seems like a lot of money for what it is in the end.

This wooden wall art is just that, an art piece. This is a beautifully crafted geometric mechanical spinner. I compare it to a hypnotizing and calming wooden kaleidoscope. It does come in a lot of pieces to put together and like a challenging puzzle you must follow the directions closely and carefully as you want every part to work properly. Give yourself plenty of time to put this together. The sculpture requires plenty of space on the wall and plenty of room for the weighted pulley to function. The quality of the wood is impressive. This is an amazing ,well thought out and a wonderful showpiece in our home. An absolute conversation work of art!

Cette sculpture murale cinétique et géométrique est vraiment du plus bel effet on peut l'installer dans n'importe quelle pièce de chez soi personnellement je l'ai installé dans mon séjour. Die Wandkunstskulptur kam gut und sicher verpackt. Das zusammensetzen als auch das anbringen an der Wand war einfach und schnell zu bewerkstelligen. Die Verarbeitung als auch die Verwendeten Materialien machen einen sehr hochwertigen Eindruck. In Sachen Optik als auch Haptik finde ich es klasse. Die Dekoration ist meiner Meinung nach zeitlos und schön, jedoch braucht man etwas Platz, damit es zur Geltung kommt. Wir sind sehr zufrieden damit.

La scultura artistica cinetica da parete di WOODEN.CITY è un oggetto creato per aggiungere un tocco molto originale in casa, il design geometrico è davvero affascinante e unico, un vero punto focale nella stanza. L'effetto cinetico, che si attiva con il movimento della struttura, è incredibilmente ipnotico e rilassante. La confezione è molto curata, i pezzi sono imbustati e protetti da una "paglia" di carta. Il montaggio è semplice ed intuitivo, all'interno ci sono tutti i pezzi e due chiavi i esagonali, al termine del montaggio serve solo fare due fori alla parete per poterlo fissare. La qualità dei materiali è ottima. La scultura è quasi totalmente in legno, compresi gli ingranaggi. La precisione dei tagli ed il sistema di incastri è davvero impressionante, tutte le sedi delle viti sono perfettamente preforate. Il legno utilizzato ha una finitura naturale opaca, credo con una leggera mordensatura che si abbina perfettamente a qualsiasi ambiente, dal soggiorno all'ufficio di stile moderno o classico. Personalmente l'ho installata nell'ingresso, dove crea un'effetto di stupore a chiunque entri in casa. Montarla non è stato difficile, la definirei un esperienza divertente,le istruzioni illustrate sono abbastanza chiare e ben dettagliate, io ci ho messo circa un oretta. Un complesso sistema di magneti, ingranaggi, cuscinetti, boccole e contrappesi, da vita ad un movimento cinetico quasi ipnotizzante che quando azionato dura dai 5 ai 10 minuti circa. Il movimento è perfetto, il complesso sistema lo rende fluido e silenziosissimo, durante le rotazioni non si sente assolutamente nulla, rendendolo un oggetto quasi irreale anche per questo. In termini di dimensioni, è abbastanza compatto da non risultare ingombrante, ma comunque abbastanza grande da attirare l'attenzione. Ma vorrei anche parlare di ciò he non mi ha convinto: La finitura naturale è indubbiamente bella, ma in qualche punto la verniciatura non è perfetta e in qualche pezzo ho trovato scaglie di legno sollevate in prossimità dei tagli, che lasciano intravedere il colore chiaro sotto la vernice. All'interno del contrappeso va inserito un oggetto che viene rappresentato come una lattina, da riempire con sabbia o sale, ma avrebbero potuto fornire un recipiente adatto con una chiusura invece di farmi utilizzare una lattina da riempire sucessivamente e lasciare aperta con il pericolo che si versi il contenuto. È vero sono piccoli particolari, ma parliamo di un oggetto che ha un costo molto alto, dal quale pretenderei la perfezione in tutti gli aspetti. Se cercate una decorazione artistica che sia più di un semplice oggetto statico, consiglio assolutamente questa scultura di WOODEN.CITY. È un pezzo che non solo abbellisce la casa, ma offre anche un’esperienza rilassante e coinvolgente. Non saprei invece se consigliarlo come idea regalo, il prezzo è molto importante, se per esempio mi venisse regalato, non credo che ne capirei il reale valore.
