Three years of daily use
We live in a cottage with an oil fired Rayburn which is great when you want to coon a roast dinner but impractical for your daily one ring stir fry/pasta/curt style of dish. Do you know how much oil costs?!I have used this induction hob daily for three years and it is still going strong. Very glad I went for this quality and not one of the slim glass types that are cheaper.I am a serious home chef, and this really is my daily go to hob.If it died tomorrow I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Not good for simmering
The cooker is quite light and easy to move around. Written instructions are poor with no labelled diagram to explain controls. One button is for 'time'. That is the actual cooking time. Another toggles between power level and cooking temperature. There are 15 power levels but no indication of those in kilowatts Levels are changed using a dial. Switching to 'temperature' at any level gives the maximum temperature of 200 (centigrade, I assume). It can then be dialed down in intervals of 20 to a minimum of 60. At 60, water does not boil or simmer. At 80 water boils but does not simmer. The induction coil switches alternately between full-on and off at any level. It is full-on for longer at higher levels. The cooker will support a 28cm diameter pan but the induction coil only heats a 12cm circle at the centre of that. The conductivity of the pan would have to be good to conduct heat to the outside of its base to prevent food burning at its centre, or continual stirring could be used.
