Huawei P20 Pro 128GB Single-SIM Factory Unlocked 4G/LTE Smartphone (Black)

I bought this to replace my Galaxy S7 Edge and I've been very happy with it. It's little bit taller than my S7, but not much wider or heavier. The screen is very good, though not quite as vibrant as the Samsung. The phone is plenty snappy and will handle anything I want to do easily (note that I am not a gamer). I have service through AT&T, and I was able to just pop my sim card in everything worked fine without having to adjust any settings.Huawei uses its own version of Android (EMUI), but it's not nearly as intrusive or annoying as the software on my Samsung. (This was a major reason I didn't want to buy another Samsung.) I use a custom launcher from Microsoft and the phone handles this just fine. It's easy to use Google's own apps for just about everything other than the phone dialer, and it doesn't come preloaded with a bunch of junk.The camera: This is the primary reason for buying this phone. The camera has three lenses on the back, and it takes fantastic photos. The default mode uses some AI processing to figure out what you're shooting and adjust the settings accordingly. (See the attached pic of a spider in the garden. TW: It's a spider!) Most of the time it gets it exactly right, but sometimes playing around with the settings helps. It also has a night mode that will take continuous exposures for four seconds, and then the AI stitches them together into one image. The results are amazing (see the attached night shot). The photos actually end up looking much brighter than how they appear with the naked eye, so it's kinda sorta like night vision. The zoom feature also works really well, at least in daylight. All of the reviews praising this phone for its camera are right. I don't know much about photography, I just know that I get even better pics from this phone than I did with my Samsung, and I was really impressed with that.The battery: It's big, and it lasts all day and often fairly far into the next day. This phone has three modes of charging: regular, fast, and super. Super only works when you use the supplied charger from Huawei, and it's really fast. However, the phone also supports fast charging with the Power Delivery (PD) standard if you're using a type C-to-type C charger and cord. This means it will show "fast" charging when I use third-party PD chargers (I have one from Aukey that I use for my laptop). And while "fast" charging isn't as fast as "super" charging, it's fast enough. When I plug this into my QC 2.0 or 3.0 charger using a type A-to-type C cord, it just shows regular charging. So the bottom line is that the Huawei proprietary system is best, but you can also buy generic PD charges and it will work just fine.Odds and ends: The fingerprint reader is super fast. Audio through the included type C adapter (on admittedly cheap headphones) is good and plenty loud. A screen protector is already on the phone out of the box, which is really nice (although it does tend to get smudged easily). I ordered a Spigen rugged armor case, which fits great and offers good protection.Problems? Nothing significant. I miss the headphone jack and wireless charging. With this nice of a camera I wish it also had a dedicated camera button on the side. Looking forward to Android 9. (It arrived running 8.0 and immediately updated to 8.1.)

It is THE BEST phone to date! No surprise it was banned in the US, what a shame!Pros:1) The best camera, look for camera specific reviews for details. I can testify, pictures are amazing! It took all the best night quality from Pixel and mixed it with Samsung optical zoom and added software remastering from iPhone. Also live phone from iphone are now available on your p20 pro Android!!2) Extremely customizable version of Android - better than stock version. You want Samsung like android - you have it, you want Pixel stock version - no problem.3) Battery is great. Even for a heavy user like me, there's enough juice for a whole day at work with 20-30% left when I go to bed. On the day off work, I have 50-60% left by the end of the day.4) Sound quality is great. Speakers are of equal quality to iPhone. - and it was always a weak side for android phones, until now.5)There're so many more pros to describe...face recognition, water-resistant, design, just not enough timeCons.So far only few minor for me: 1) I was unable to upload "live pictures" to google photo. 2) no wireless charge 3) location of the power button is too close to volume control - at least for me, maybe it's just changing a habit from my previous phone... Oh, and there's one major CONS for me - I wish I bought this phone sooner!!Overall, I'm very excited with this amazing phone!! It is the best!!

It's an incredible phone but the one i received was blocked because it was reported as stolen .

Pros:-Camera is awesome, the ai-run camera software makes some rather stunning photos.-The phone itself is great and everything I would expect from a modern day, high-end smart phone-The phone transfer tool does a good job transferring pretty much everything-Alerts from apps are consolidated to reduce clutter in the lock screenCons:-Perhaps its because it is the international version, but mine arrived with a European > USB power adapter -- not too much of a problem as I've got plenty of US Power > USB chargers, just mildly annoying-I also failed to notice that the P20 Pro is a different size from the P20, and ordered a case for the P20, would be nice if the nomenclature made the size difference more prominent, but ultimately my fault-It seems that there's no middle ground for software to be installed on the phone without having an icon residing on one of the home screens -- I'd rather prefer to have shortcuts to only a few frequently used apps and the remainder accessable through a searchable repository like i'm used to with android-Many of the Huawei features (bloatware) don't work, apparently because I'm in the US -- didn't really want to use it anyway, but there doesn't seem to be a way to uninstall the non-working software either-Facebook is included in the bloatware-some app alerts are sticky and can't be dismissed, and when they're consolidated with other alerts from the app, the consolidated alert can't be dismissed eitherWhile I've thrown on more cons than pro's, the cons are all relatively minor gripes in scope and I do think this is a great phone and would highly recommend it, especially to anyone that enjoys photography and doesn't feel like carrying their DLSR everywhere they go.

Great phone with an amazing camera that outperforms by iPhone 8+ camera for low light and travel photographs. The AI features are sometimes over aggressive for selfies, and in the USA many of the Huawei online features do not work, but mostly they can be removed and the Google defaults can be used.
