BlackVue DR900 S-2 CH dashcam
Very easy to set up. Picture quality excellent especially at front with 5k camera. Time lapse function in parking mode very useful as can record right through night at one frame per second. I have car pointing towards front door and garage so can record any intruders entering these areas. Had to switch off movement sensor in parking mode though as got 80 notifications one night owing to rain running down windscreen nd triggering sensor. Sometimes experience difficulty connecting to camera via WiFi, although in range of house router. 16k memory card not sufficient as card overwritten too quickly. Upgrade cards very expensive if bought from BlackVue. Don’t know why these should be so expensive compared with similar well branded cards. Has better picture quality and functions than friend’s Goyluk dashcam. Overall very pleased with purchase

excellent
I have just put this into a mini cooper it is very easy to install excellent recording and picture quality would definitely recommend the front camera looks massive in the front windscreen but this is down to the size of the car my only criticism is you have to use blackvue's own memory cards as the one I purchased did not work also bear in mind a hard wire kit if you want it to record evan when you are not with the car which is one of the reasons i bought it but i would highly recommend this dash cam and i am very happy with the purchase

Great product
Installed in no time, setup is easy and the mobile app seems to be pretty good.Had an issue getting blackvue wifi to work on Android but worked perfectly on my iPhone.Camera quality is great and the ability to upload/download clips from the camera without removing it or the memory card is excellent.

Good protection
Had this professionally installed using the PMP which facilitates parking protection. Having had numerous dash cams in the past I’d say the video quality is average and I find the wide angle distortion off putting but the resolution is great so you can zoom in for fine detail and reading number plates. The front location is behind the mirror but the graphics on the camera doesn’t exactly make it unobtrusive if you’re worried about someone fancying it. I’m irritated by the fact that there is no level adjustment once stuck to glass - you can only adjust up or down. I had great difficulty getting it attached to WiFi and for some reason it keeps popping in and out of connection with a corresponding irritating voice message if that option is stitched on. And you can’t fault the amount of options offered all done through a not so user friendly app plus all the switches on the PMP. I also like the remote access to the cameras on my phone from just about anywhere but this does require a WiFi source in the vehicle. Would I recommend it - it’s probably the most comprehensive dual cam arrangement out there with parking protection but it comes at a price which can only be justified if it’s looking after some expensive metalwork. My previous Nextbase set up came very near and at half the price so choose carefully.

Heat, Heat, Heat ...!
Good software. Extremely bad hardware construction. It overheats all the time, even in cold conditions like after 40 minutes’ drive. It is not possible to use at all.

the best dash cam
This system is great! the videos are superb, I can take stills and zoom in on them making identification a doodle, its small enough to fit behind your rear view mirror and work automatically, I got this as it has a parking mode, I have found i can turn the rear one round and use it to identify persons robbing the car, Ive had my window broken and car rifled twice now and the police say they have no evidence, well in future I will have an HD film of it, even if they rob the cameras, because it will record to the cloud, I will still have the evidence, to all these people saying it does not work on android, well it works on my mates Samsung, they must have updated the system now, I have an apple, works brilliantly.

The Pros and Cons of this Dashcam
First, the good points. The 4K H265 picture quality is very good on the front camera. It was very easy to fit in the car. The front camera sits behind my drivers mirror and is unobtrusive. The Android Apps works well (once you are connected to the cameras network). Build quality is good and the cameras come with sticky pads to give you a non-vibrating steady hold. Parking mode is very good.I purchased a socket/switch that uses the OBD2 plug of the car. This has a switch on it to either use parking mode or turn it off. It also comes with battery drain protection (apparently). Now for the bad. The camera doesn't come with Europe/UK compatible 5g wifi so you will not find the networks SSID on some Android phones. After much searching, you have to switch the camera to a 2.4g network setting instead of 5g. The only issue with that, is the option isn't available until you install the latest firmware. Once done, you can see your cameras SSID. But, file transfer is very slow on the congested 2.4g network and the files are very large (180-200mb per 1 minute clip). For half an hours worth of video, that's 30 files. You have to transfer the files from the dashcams memory to your phones internal memory. I don't have much internal memory, so I then have to move all the video files in internal memory to the phones SD card. To get them on my PC, I use an ftp program on my phone (Switching from the phones wifi to your home wifi). The files don't play on my Panasonic 4K UHD OLED TV, so I have to convert them to MKV and upload them to my Netgear R8000 network share.Pittasoft refuse to upgrade the 5g so that it is compatible in Europe/UK, so we are stuck with 2.4g once you update the firmware. They claim it is due to licencing but in reality, they are actually operating on an illegal frequency in the UK.If you buy this camera in the UK, expect to spend a day faffing about getting it to work after you have installed it in the car. Some instructions and guidance for Europe/UK would have been useful. For a camera costing £450-500 (possibly the most expensive on the market) I'd expect better from Pittasoft.Don't be put off by my review, it is still a good camera, but a few instructions would have saved me hours of research trying to work out why it didn't work straight out the box.If you live elsewhere or have an IPhone, apparently this issue isn't a problem. It is only on some Android devices.I have owned this camera a week now. Another possible problem for you is that the DR900S records the video using US NTSC 30fps and does not have the option to record at the UK PAL standard of 25fps. This will not usually be an issue, but many UK LED lights (e.g. traffic lights) use a 50hz AC power supply (standard mains supply in the UK) and using the NTSC 30fps which is designed for the US that uses a standard 60hz AC is out of step and exacerbates LED flickering. Not that PAL 25fps will eliminate LED flicker entirely, but a 25fps mode would mean that the timing was more in sync (25fps being 2 frames per 50hz cycle) with UK equipment. With the issue of the 5g wifi and the fixed 30fps video, Pittasoft have not implemented any options for this camera to operate outside of the US. For a camera at this price level you get no support from Pittasoft if you live outside the US.Be warned and think carefully before buying this product.

Ottima dashcam
