Forget these bad reviews this good remake
I usually hate remakes but I have orginal one and loved it but this well made and done as remake anyone who didn’t like it just can’t be bothered to be entertained anymore by anything . This was scary I compared the both and Ryan Reynold pulled off better George Lutz then James brolin cause he know for being a comedian and we saw what was in the house to make it more believable than just our imagination by sounds n moving objects. I enjoyed both but remake comes close to real story n frightening aspects of story as orginal is just entertaining classic horror like the exorcist . It own orginal in 4k and now remake .

Underrated horror remake!
I don't understand the hate for this remake. Ryan Reynolds gives an outstanding, eerie performance and the atmosphere is great. Always a yearly watch for me. Package arrived in perfect condition. No damage to the slipcover, case, or discs.

4k is good
it came as a set w/ 4k & blue ray disk. The 4k is fine for the US,but the included Blu-ray is region 3 and doesn’t play in a US player. I still have one tv that doesn’t play 4ks. Knowing that the wrong region Blu-ray was in it,I wouldn’t have bought it

Surprisingly good and two good leads
Not terribly scary, but for a more laid back horror movie it was pretty good.

PROOF Most Reviewers Are Either Bogus, Liars and/or Completely Insane
Read some reviews, they are reviewing the ORIGINAL 'Amityville Horror' which THIS IS NOT THE ORIGINAL!! You morons didn't even watch this movie yet you are writing reviews about it!As an example:You're including Kidder and Brolin in your review.........KIDDER AND BROLIN ARE NOT IN THIS MOVIE!!!!

I prefer the Amityville remake to the original.
The 1970s Amityville horror starring Margo Kidder and James Brolin never really did much for me.I always found it kind of campy and just not that creepy.I personally prefer the Ryan Reynolds remake of Amityville Horror because it has a level of intensity and creepiness that filmmakers just couldn't capture in the 1970s.I also think the performances in this remake are overall better than the original. More grounded and believable. Both movies present the same basic story but do it in such different ways, why not own both?
