This umbrella is very sturdy. It is a good size for lots of coverage during downpours. A bit on the heavy side and sometimes it takes me two hands to bring it down and get it to catch.

Since I bought the umbrella while visiting family in the US the window of opportunity to return it for another didn't exist, and now I'm in possession of a lovely purple umbrella that stood up to recent winds but is extremely difficult to close. I'm not sure if the "down" button is stuck or if this particular umbrella is simply defective,
