A great read for adult and child
There is a real trend for this type of book at the moment, told through a child's eyes. Sally Grindley does an amazing job at it in this book.Life is good for the two brothers in the story. They have a happy life in a well off Indian family until one day their father looses his job. The father slips into depression and begins to take it out on his family. The two boys, believing their father's depression is their fault, runaway. The story follows the steep learning curve they follow adapting to life on the streets and the difficult moral choices made on the way.Another book I couldn't put down.

Great story that introduces kids to the existence of street children - not something that's discussed often in the UK - with a sensitive but realistic approach. An interesting story for both younger and older readers.

Indian cultural fiction
What a great author, loved this tale, really got into the Indian culture and the struggles the boys have to face. Must read. Read to my year 5 they loved it too.
