Perfect for elderly people
With the option to slow down the pace of an incoming callers words, being able to increasing the volume, and the large buttons, these phones are working great for my 95 year Aunt.

This is an outstanding landline telephone.
I initially purchased this phone because it offered improved volume control to deal with my moderate hearing loss. It resolved that problem. However, this device goes well beyond that in offering an excellent group of features to improve talking, hearing and function on a land line telephone. I would definitely have purchased it without my partial hearing loss.

Great sound
Update July 2022I think the problem was our wifi through magic jack and not the phone. I replaced the 5 yr old magic jack with a new one and issues were solved. We then moved in Jan 2022 to a rural area with MB speeds instead of GB. Callers cannot sometimes hear us or we cannot hear them. When I called the ISP they made a tweak to prioritize phone calls over other wifi use. Was slightly better for a time. Given this information I upgraded the review to 4 stars for the phone. It's very convenient to have them around the house and not have to keep a cell phone on me. Almost everything, including deleting messages can be handled from the handsets.Update Aug 2021-2 starTwo weeks ago the all of the handsets developed worsening static issues. Unsure if that is generated by the base unit or why it waited 2 months to deteriorate. Tried the tone button and the handsets will individually reset to a clear line but as soon as a call is placed or received static again escalates to where the conversation is not intelligible.Have checked all lines, tried using new phone cords, tried moving the Magic Jack Unit to a direct router connection and even ordered a replacement Magic Jack Unit. We have FiOS internet and used MJ for past 3 years, no problems. Calls placed and received over Wifi MJ app are with crystal clear.Next I replaced the Panasonic base unit with our Captel phone. The static disappeared and CapTel calls were crystal clear. Therefore I am left to believe the Panasonic phone or base unit has deteriorated.Since we require handsets in 5 different areas and the Captel phone is not cordless, I am once again searching for a base unit with cordless phone extensions. Strongly considering VOIP with Zoom phone and/or Google Voice so now looking at Yealink phones.Orginal Review June 2021I was worried reading some of the reviews that volume was not good. I've only had there's for about a month. Both hubby and myself wear hearing aids. He is hearing impaired and I have tinnitus. The volume is loud enough that we don't need to use the speaker button. Even without our hearing aids we can hear the conversation. I have voice issues and can't talk above a whisper. The phone carries my whisper and so far everyone has been able to hear what I am saying.Very much like the large number, the backlight and the large flashing light to let us know someone left a message. Set up wasnt difficult as we were using a different Panasonic model before this one. Menu and codes are similar. The other one let me name each handset. This doesn't stop I do miss that feature.

Heard a Soft Voice
It took awhile for this old brain to adjust to unfamiliar icons, actions, signals, and motifs, but I was determined to have a phone on which I could actually hear the caller and I could manipulate the device to let me hear as I once could. The first thing I did is call a person who possesses the softest voice I know in the softest tones. I did not have to say, "What?" once the entire conversation. An absolute delight! I was prepared to use BOOST and maybe have it hurt my ears. I held it away from my ear and lowered the boost a little just in case. I was fortunate enough to hit the right spot. What a pleasure! To be able to talk to my sister without straining to understand or hear was almost worth the cost of the phone. Got lots to learn yet. I am not as hearing impaired as many, but what a joy! 01/28/25

Bilingual functions
It’s an ok phone. If I could go back I would not purchase it. Bought if my mom. Said it had Spanish /English functions. It gives you the option to add names in Spanish as well as English. However when it speaks it says all the names in English.Does have a louder volume for sound great for people who have hearing issues. Are old phone was the same brand as this one. This new phone is twice as heavy as the other phone and thicker (bulkier hard to hold for smaller hands)For the elderly it might not be good if they have strength issues.
