It is a great reference book of the underlying phylosophy and the exercises
It is a great reference book of the underlying phylosophy and the exercises. But I excepted a book with many workouts which can be learned and practiced. The book is a great companion to those who already practicing and want to go deeper into the Clubbell world, but not so useful for a beginner, who only wants to learn new exercises and/or workouts.

Shorter would have been better
It's big because he covers everything from why people roam the earth to actually giving you clubbell exercises. I appreciate the idea of being thorough but it is a bit much. Could have been much much shorter

Clubbell book
I know Scott is a very knowledgeable person, no doubt there. However, i started to read the book and there was just too much theory at the start. I expected a quick intro...then get into it. I got bored after a bit and jumped into the later sections.

Loaded with exercises
This is the book I've been looking for to find all the exercises for club bells. sure there are videos on the internet but looking at the pictures and the descriptions, along with the background for club bell training really helps out. Simple to use and packed with more exercises than you'll ever need.

A necessary book for clubbell users, but could be much better.
A rather frustrating book. There are relatively few clubbell resources available online, so the purchase of this book was important to get full value out of my clubbells.Scott Sonnon seems to have thought deeply about the purpose of exercise, and come up with a range of approaches to fitness and wellbeing. A look at his website describes 4 or 5 different training systems he has developed / co-developed. It is not clear how they all hang together.PLUSSES- The book has a large section showing many exercises that can be done with one or two clubbells. The photos are clear and show the sequence in an exercise.- The author indicates a depth of thinking in developing health & fitness training that goes well beyond the norm. His indication of health as the priority for training in his CST system is important for a lot of fitness enthusiasts - who often follow fitness disciplines developed for other purposes.- One of the few comprehensive resources available on clubbell training.MINUSES- At Β£30, an expensive book.- The binding quality is poor - the pages are coming out within a week. An exercise book requires frequent revisiting, so this is unacceptable.- Although a comprehensive list of exercises is included, there is little explanation why I would use one exercise rather than another; what benefit there is of a particular exercise or group of exercises.- The workout routines are not well explained. The author does not want to give a simple recipe as training needs to be adaptive & he is aiming for intelligent use, but overlooks that an intelligent reader will be able to adapt from 3-4 examples to build something unique for their purposes.- The author does not explain his thinking clearly. I get the sense of some deep thinking behind his training methods, but it is not well explained. for example, I still do not understand what the "golden ratio" has to do with clubbell training. It feels like it is meaningful for Scott Sonnon, but just obscure for the reader.- The book reads like an infomercial at times - why you should buy the author's clubbells rather than inferior competing products. And that you will get the full benefits by signing up to his certification courses.CONCLUDEOn buying the book - I promptly bought a second clubbell because it made clear how I would use it - from the good quality photos of the exercises. I am finding this purchase very useful - I just wish it was an awful lot better!
