If you're used to wearing baby sling, body weight shouldn't make a big difference. I put my daughter inside of it, shes's 33lbs. (3 year old) and it was ok, but I wouldn't carry her for long :) she's too heavy for me. However, you always NEED to have a sling to carry your baby or baby carrier where kids' legs wrap your body. Bigger kids won't fit directly in a pouch I hope it makes sense. Personally, I would feel most comfortable if I was carrying a baby of max 22lbs.
