This is my husband second American hat because he loves them.

This is a $200 leather hat that they shipped in a plastic bag. A flat, squished, plastic bag. Is this a joke? The hat is extremely deformed, squished flat and on the sides, and with creases and there's no way to shape it since it's just soft leather with no framework or hardened areas. Someone actually shoved this leather hat in an Amazon plastic shipping bag you get $10 tshirts in.I cannot fathom how they think that's ok for a leather hat. A $200 leather hat. I've purchased stetson and others before, they come in a beautiful cardboard box perfectly shaped to support and protect the hat for transport and storage. The top should go in a cardboard tunnel and the cardboard should sit at the base of the brim with supports under the brim so it doesn't deshape from gravity.The hat would be pretty nice if it came in a proper protective box like every other high end cowboy/leather hat but it's over priced for sure. It's more like a nice $100-120 hat if they didn't destroy it in shipping.Do not buy this hat.*Update, do not buy this hat from Amazon. After contacting the manufacturer, they ship it in a box, it's Amazon specifically that poorly packaged it. So if you like this hat, buy it from the manufacturer directly. High quality, attractive hat. Does what a hat should do.

The media could not be loaded.  Very nice hat. Works well in the tropics and rain. Thin leather compared to their more expensive hats, so it doesn't bend into other shapes well. Buy the "Durango" or a similar model instead if you want the sides tipped upward.Video shows me wearing it at the end of a fairly significant downpour just outside a tropical rainforest. Very little rain penetrated to my head, no drips or pours were felt and my head's likely more wet from sweat than rain. It's less effective under very windy or hurricane conditions but this obviously is not a hat you'd want to wear during a hurricane anyway. I wouldn't buy this if you're primarily expecting to wear it under very windy and wet conditions. It excels in low-wind and windless conditions.Leather looks great, strap is effective, hat band and upper leather gives it a touch of class, and frankly all the hats I've bought made by this company get compliments regularly. Very good quality workmanship, worth the price.As others have noted buy a size larger than usual to make room for the included sweatband.

This hat is awesome. A little hot for people with thick hair, and I would buy one size up from where you think you’d be.
