Avigal Henna (Color for Hair) Deep Red-brown 17.6 Oz (AUBURN)

The red-brown was more like dark brown on my medium brown hair. I used some on my daughter's friend's hair and it turned green! Her hair had been highlighted the day before. I was convinced this was pure henna so that shouldn't have happened. It does happen with inigo which is related to henna. We trimmed off a bunch of strands and tried all the natural remedies on her green strands. None worked, but we tried Feria Red hair dye and it worked beautifully.So, beware! Don't use on bleached hair!I'm changing my review to 5 stars because this was my mess up. I've used various shades of Avigal Henna for over 20 years and it's a great product. It is better than hair dye for your hair. It actually makes your hair healthier because it protects it. My hair gets thicker and smoother when I use it. It takes a few days for the full effect after use. At first my hair feels rougher and more tangled so I use a lot of conditioner. After a few days more of the highlights come out and my hair is smoother.

I have been using this product for twenty years and I have never found another henna that does the job like this one. I have trouble sourcing it with each passing year. I hate the idea that someday I may have to use chemicals and will never get the positive effects I get from Avigal.

Messy. Followed directions EXACT and my hair didn't change AT ALL and for $27, I would expect it to change color.

I've been using this product for over 30 years and have always been impressed with the quality. I even used the neutral without any color to make shine and improve hair. I've used black, auburn, chestnut, brown and red. I recently learned that gray hair has to be double processed using red first then the color you want. Also learned how to combine colors so the henna doesn't look brassy. If hair is mostly gray, the red will make it look somewhat orange. Then redo and use brown and red mixed together and use coffee instead of water. There are all types of tricks. Comes with literature too.

I have used this product for over 7 years and every time get the same results. I have hair longer than my shoulder and get about 6 applications from this size can. My hair does smell like the product for about 4 washes (stinks), but I love the results and my hair keeps the same color except where the roots grow out.
