Used to trap baby fish from pond. Worked well. No instructions included or info on what kind of bait to use etc. which would have been nice.

My 8 year old loves this thing. Every time he checks on it, there is always fish, crawfish, slanders pr something else

Very durable good material well put together. Only thing I did different was. I added a heavier duty carabiner.

The primary challenge I face with this trap is that the entrance is excessively large for the size of baitfish I intend to capture. Consequently, I am encountering an influx of large minnows. To address this issue, I plan to conduct an experimental trial involving the strategic placement of zip ties within the openings to reduce the entrance size. Despite this inconvenience, I acknowledge the overall effectiveness of the trap.

Compact, light and easy to use.

I purchased this to remove an over abundance of horned pout (6” size) from my pond. I put some sliced hot dogs in for bait. Caught 16 fish within 2 hrs. This trap is sturdy, well made, easy to use, includes strong synthetic twine approx. 20’ long. The price is very fair for the quality of the trap.

so this is a little better than the "you get what you pay for" grade, and is worth the $18. but it won't last nearly as long as some of the better ones on the market. having said that you can make it a little sturdier with additional zip ties and some string.

The picture I attached was MY FIRST CAST .. loaded it with a piece of bread floating around a chunk of white cheese so the fish could see the bait in the dark water then in the bait bag I put frozen ground beef chunk and some fishy flavoured cat food pellets and I cannot stress it enough everytime I threw this trap in I would wait 5mins or less and pull out atleast 20 fish creek chub, fall fish , sucker fish etc was a ton of fun … if there are fish in the area and you have the right bait you will catch fish allll day long .. the mesh isn’t the highest quality but if it rips I will just patch it very easily w zipties the mesh hasn’t got caught on anything for me yet .. the build it self is cosmetically a lil janky looks homemade a bit but it does its job flawlessly and I have no doubts that it will hold up for a long time as long as I watch where I’m casting it out , also you would think fish could escape easy with so many holes but I don’t think I lost a single fish all day

On setting up the bait trap for the first time, I immediately found myself holding a broken zipper head. It was snapped in half. So... as the headline suggests... thank goodness there are two and that only one is actually necessary. Fingers crossed that the one remaining zipper doesn't fail anytime soon!Otherwise, the bait trap construction seems to be quite good... though it's IMPORTANT to know that you do NOT cut the zip ties that are on one end of the folded down frame! They remain in place. There is a single string you need to untie and then the whole trap opens up around the zip-tied end to form a hexagon.There's a clip that you can attach to the openings of the net openings on the first and last segments of the trap - the two segments either side of the zipper. This will keep those openings from letting all your bait get back out!Even with just some bread in the bait net, it's easy to attract many little critters, whether you're doing so for fun and exploration or as bait for fishing.Overall - and despite the zipper issue - I'm pleased and recommend this bait trap, especially since it folds down so nicely into an included travel / storage bag.

I put the Drasry Fishing Bait Trap Foldable Fish Minnow Crab Crayfish Crawdad Shrimp Net Trap in the water in our boathouse. No bait in it, just left it on the bottom.A couple of hours later it was teeming with small fish and a few medium sized ones, too.For minnows, the holes have to be a bit smaller unless you are trying to catch crayfish or larger fish for bait.Totally impressive. I couldn't believe how well it worked with nothing to attract the fish. They just came out of curiosity.Unzip and dump them in a pail and you are ready to go.Highly recommended.

I tested this out at my cottage by putting some bread inside and lowering it off my dock. I caught quite a few minnows, more than enough for a morning of fishing. Getting the minnows out wasn't too difficult, but I lost a few in the process.It would work for crayfish as well, but unlikely to stand up to a large catch. The netting isn't of the greatest quality. Good enough for infrequent light use, but if you're using planning on using this net regularly I would suggest a higher quality one.
