Faster, no problems with nvme card or mounting
This a a great case for my nvme stick. I moved my P3 4TB PCIe Gen3 3D NAND NVMe ssd from the former 10mbps lightweight ssk case to this hefty one and about doubled the transfer speed. It's a cooler running nvme with moderate performance in the 3000 range. The included cable was three times faster and longer than the cable that came with the old ssk case. Installation was just as easy. I changed my home server from a netbook running linux to the M4 mac mini. I use this ssk to host a media server and for daily network backups with a 4tb passport for mirror. This case is warm, but no warmer than the old one. I keep it on the mac mini case to increase the heat transfer to the mini. This is a great value and design for the money.

This one will not work with iMac 2017 27"
I have iMac 2017 27". I tried to install with Samsung 990 Evo plus but it failed multiple times . This one will not work if you want to use an external boot drive with iMac.

Good speed but with random disconnects
I use it as an external storage for Mac Mini. The speed is excellent. I got max speed for my NVMe. (The negative on this enclosure is that it randomly disconnects from the Mac Mini.)Updates: I replaced the original cable with a 6” usb c 4 cable purchased at Amazon, no more disconnects. I’m not sure if the original cable is defective or the length of it.

Was useless for me with M4 Mac Mini - Drive not recogned as TB4 about 90% of the time
Didn't work well for me with my M4 Mac Mini. I tried using this as a backup drive (not my main drive, in other words) with both a new Samsung 990 EVO Plus and Samsung 990 Pro and had a lot of problems. The main issues were the drive wasn't recognized at all during boot or the drive only connected as USB (10gbps) even though it was connected to one of the mini's rear TB4 ports. After rebooting 2 or 3 times the drive would sometimes get recognized as TB4, but mostly it wasn't recognized at all or only as a USB3.x 10gbps connection. Comparing this to the Acasis TB3/TB4 case I already owned shows a night and day contrast. The Acasis is always recognized as TB3/TB4.So not sure if the issue with the SSK enclosure is because it uses the newer Asmedia chipset (vs the Intel JHL7440 chipset used by Acasis). If so, then not sure it's worth the tradeoffs. In comparison the SSK (when it worked) was about 20% faster Blackmagic simulated read/write speeds. But, the drive temps were almost 70C for the SSK while the Acasis was 45C (with fan running) or 55C (without fan).TLDR: The SSK doesn't reliably connect to the M4 Mac Mini, it runs very hot and I found it too unstable for day to day use vs the Acasis enclosure I'm also using. It could be due to the SSK's Asmedia chipset vs the JHL7440 chipset which Acasis uses. Not really sure. So, I ended up returning this for a refund.

Works as advertised if you have USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 ports.
Really good USB4\TB4 enclsoures. Works as expected. Comes with USB4 cable, thick thermal pad that actually touches the aluminum enclosre, and a nice, rugged rubber cover that makes it look really nice. The Aluminum case dissipates heat extremely well. It's too hot to hold without the rubber cover during benchmarking. With a PCIE 4.0 4TB SN850X temps ranged from 62° to 68°. Too hot to hold but well under the warning temp of 90°.

Came with a generic USB-C cable
I was disappointed at the cable included. It is not as the picture on Amazon website with USB4 and 40Gbps designation. It is just a no-label USB-C cable that is similar to any other USB-C cable. I now have to shop for a USB4/40Gbps rated cable for the connection, which will be added cost.
