In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

Most supportive shoes I have ever worked out in
I am really happy with these shoes. I have always worn Nike cross trainers to work out in, but when my latest pair were worn out and I found out the style I liked was discontinued, I decided to look around. A friend had recommended Asics so I tried them on and immediately knew they were quality shoes. Felt amazing and fit well. Only problem was I could only find Asics running shoes in the stores, and I needed side to side support. I have terrible knees, so I really have to make sure I have strong support in a shoe. The Volleycross met and exceeded my expectations. It is super comfortable, supportive, colorful, and I don't think I will end up going back to Nike or any other brand. These are awesome.

Perfect sport shoes.
I LOVE these shoes!! I purchased these and Mizuno Wave Tornado and Asics are so much better. They are just perfect for volleyball and in general.Mizunos were kinda heavy, clunky and didn't look good with my outfits, and Asics (I have black pair) look great with everything-shorts, leggings, sweats, jeans.I also lift weights and they are great for that.On the court they are very bouncy and stable. I swear I jump higher. Also they have a good grip. They fit true to the size, I wear 8.5 and they super comfortable, no breaking needed.

Fits good
I'm normally a 8.5 and sometimes 9, so I took a risk and ordered 8.5 as lots of reviewers said it fits just right. I actually think I can go down to 8 for these, it's just a tad longer than expected. I have wide feet and I have no problems with these, the width fits very roomy. Very good grip material on the outsole. Great flashy color scheme, overall a good deal, in the past I've been paying over $100 for the same quality shoes. I rarely buy shoes online b/c of the fit but this purchased turned out well for me.

Great brand and fit!
Love these shoes! I just started back playing indoor volleyball again and I love the grip and traction you get with these. I get compliments every time I wear them. Im 5"11 and have difficulty finding shoes that fit. They are true to size. It's hard to find half sizes especially 10.5. I normally have to get an 11 and they end up being to big. This is my first time owning asics and I am very impressed. Now it does make my foot a lil wide but I have skinny and narrow feet, so I just tighten the laces and it's fine. Will buy again!

Great Court Shoes, but No Arch Support
These were an upgrade from my last pair of VB shoes, and I could instantly tell the difference as far as gripping the court, being able to move faster and even a little reduction in ankle pain from an old injury after playing. They also accommodate the bulky ankle brace I wear (not all shoes do). One big issue though: Nonexistent arch support. By the time I realized just how bad it was, the tags were off and the next day my arches were in agony. I bought some insoles, which solved the problem, but that was additional money on top of a $100 pair of shoes! I wanted to give 4 stars but I feel like I have to dock them because I had to buy something else to make them work.ASICS fit can sometimes be hit or miss, but this pair was true to size-- I am a 10 in most other brands and the 10 fits great. The shoes are also just plain nice to look at, and I get compliments on them from time to time.Summary: They are great volleyball shoes, but if you need arch support either look elsewhere or be prepared to buy insoles.

Beautiful and comfy volleyball shoes
I've only worn them once so far, but I'm very rough on volleyball shoes (I play competitively three times a week) and they felt really great. They were snug, seeing as how I just purchased them, but I think they'll be perfect for the next year. I also ordered a half size larger because I have problems hitting my toes against the front of the shoe playing volleyball, and these gave me that little bit of extra room--no more bruised toenails, yay! Highly recommend them for any volleyball player.

My heel also slides easily if I don't have them on tight enough
These ones fit well, but they're a little tight in the width even though I do not normally wear wide shoes. My heel also slides easily if I don't have them on tight enough. These aren't my first pair of Asics, but are my first pair of volleyball specific Asics shoes (have always worn Nike for volleyball). The only downside is that after a few wears and a few dives to the floor, I did rub off a small patch of purple off one and it now shoes a white spot. One positive is that the toe in general seems to be well made. I tend to drag my toe when I serve and so far these shoes haven't shown any wear in the toe. These shoes also seem to "stick" to the floor much better than my previous shoes regardless of how dirty or clean the gym floor is.

These shoes are yummy
I can not remember the last time I bought a pair of shoes that didnt have some area of discomfort... I totally forget these shoes are on my feet. And they are gorgeous!!! Comfortable and work really well on and off the court. I do crossfit in these and court volleyball. I love them. I was thinking today I should buy a pair and put down!!! sigh if only :D
