Great set!
Love this salt and pepper grinder set! The color is just gorgeous - a beautiful candy apple red and has just a slight metallic sheen to it. The set comes with a storage base/tray which is so helpful in avoiding the little bits of ground salt/pepper that will inevitably be left after setting them down. Also came with a handy brush for cleaning the grinder - so useful for avoiding buildup of fine particles. Mine arrive almost completely charged and I love that it's a rechargeable vs having to go through batteries left and right (I cook all the time). Also like the light feature - it's actually a ring around the grinding mechanism and clearly shows how much is coming out. Extremely easy to adjust the courseness and they both worked well at all levels. Overall, it's works extremely well and looks great on the counter!

I was skeptical at first
When I opened the box and saw daylight between the mill burrs on both grinders at their most fine setting, I was concerned that I would end up with rocks of salt and chunks of pepper as a finished product. However, when I actually used them, the salt came out almost like powder, as did the pepper. I like my seasonings ground very fine, I was not disappointed. The rechargeability aspect is very welcome -- I passed over a set that required disposable batteries, opting instead for these even though they were not quite as beautifully rendered. No matter, their utility more than makes up for it.One thing I liked the most was the light in the bottom that turns on when the grinder button is pressed. Was not expecting that feature (maybe I could study product descriptions more carefully before ordering?) but it was a nice surprise nonetheless. The "5 Levels of Coarseness" is really five different sized dots evenly spaced on the continuously adjustable outer ring, so you can get just the size of grind that you want.Rate of dispensing is faster than a typical shaker, but not so fast that it's difficult to manage. The motors feel strong, with plenty of torque. The grinders work very well for both cooking and table use.I wondered initially which grinder was for pepper and which for salt (they weren't marked) but being able to see the un-ground seasoning in the reservoirs renders that point moot, and looks very attractive. For the price, these are great. My new favorite salt and pepper mills. Five stars.

Beats hand grinding spices all day!
I got this set of grinders as my first automatic set. The pair ships simply packed in a brown box with a single bi-fold sheet of instructions, charging base, cord, and cleaning brush. I charged the set overnight, and am not sure how long it took before it was a full charge. The next day, I put it to the test while making 40 burgers for a birthday party/cookout, and the single charge handled that challenge easily. The salt I use is a very hard Himalayan Sea Salt, and I put this on a coarse flake setting when I am making beef. It works perfectly and places nice large slivers of salt on the meat. The pepper grinder was equally consistent and handle the peppercorns without issue. Before this set, I had hand grinders that would wear my forearms out. If I was cooking large meals, I would ultimately be fatigued and twisting my wrist nonstop through discomfort. This really has elevated my joy while cooking. The design is nice and looks great in my stainless kitchen.I highly recommend.

***UPDATED 07/23/2024***The seller contacted me and explained that they understand the importance of ensuring customers are sent unused, pristine items and that they rigorously inspect each item before sending it to the warehouse to be shipped when purchased. Although I now think the problem I had lies elsewhere down the line, rather with the sellers products and practices, the seller still reached out to me and asked if they could take responsibility for it. They offered to personally send me a replacement directly from their stock to ensure I received the product in good condition. This alleviates my concerns about the company sending out used items that are in contact with food, and I now feel comfortable recommending this salt and pepper shaker set. I likely will give this set the 5 stars I think it probably deserves once I receive a replacement, and have an opportunity to use them longer than a cursory test to ensure they operate, and the opportunity to comment on anything else I notice after repeated use that could be of help.I was sent an obviously opened and returned product, and sadly, would likely have given these a 5 star review had they been new. Especially when it comes to kitchen and bathroom items, I don't want used items from homes I don't know the condition of.I will review these based on how they worked when tested and what is good about them for those that want to take a chance on getting new ones, but will not continue using them, and I have to say I'm really sad about that!I have had several salt and pepper grinders over the years, but something was always lacking with each set. The manual ones got to be a pain (literally) with my arthritic wrist, the electric ones chewed through batteries and seemed to only work okay, and the last contenders, the rechargeable electric pair sat on a base to charge, and had to have a special place near an outlet or I had to bring out the base and move things around when one or the other needed charging. These also worked okay, but adjusted the grind by turning a nut on the bottom and this didn't seem to do much to adjust the grind, just eventually unscrewed the nut from the bottom, and the salt grinder very quickly got so weak it turns on but can't grind anything. I also didn't like the cheap black plastic look of any of these electric ones I have owned. Back to the search for a decent salt and pepper grinder that doesn't bother my wrist. I found these and loved how they looked and that they were made of metal. I also LOVED that you could easily adjust the grind by turning the base of the grinder! I decided to give them a shot. They seemed a bit pricey, but not much more than the ones I had already tried so I ordered them. They came in a thick cardboard box with a cover that lifts off with plastic seals on both sides to ensure it is new (mine was opened and the seals pealed back) and the grinders (should be) neatly nestled inside with a small box underneath that holds a charger, cleaning brush, users manual, and optional base (mine were not neatly nestled inside and the cardboard divider that nestles them was found laying underneath the grinders).Since I was sent these in exchange for my honest review, I put some salt and pepper in them and tested them by grinding onto a plate as I couldn't actually use them for preparing and seasoning food as you could clearly see they had been previously used and returned. Here is what I found testing out how they worked, and why I am so sad they came used. One of my favorite things about this set is how easy it is to adjust the grind for different things by just twisting the base to the clearly marked dots, as in the past I had to kind of pick a middle of the road setting and leave it be since it was difficult to change the grind on others. The grind seemed to adjust in size appropriately, at least with the limited use I could review. I also liked that these charge simply and individually without any required base to deal with, just plug in whichever needs to charge with the USB cable and that's it. I appreciate this small change because I often needed to charge the salt but not the pepper on the previous set and hated having to do them together, and have to deal with the base. They hold an average to good amount of salt and pepper and are easy to fill. I hated trying to pour peppercorns into a small little window on the side of the grinder with others. These are more convenient to fill as you just unscrew the top and pour in your salt and pepper into a wide mouth. The button to operate them is easy to press, is responsive and worked all 5 times I pressed each to test them. They also have a light at the bottom that is a strange yellow color and not all that bright, but forgiveable given all the positives these salt and pepper shakers could have provided. All that said, I will not be able to speak to longevity, or anything else beyond a cursory test since I can't use these due to receiving them used. In my opinion it is unsanitary to send used items that come into contact with your food. I REALLY wish that they hadn't done this with these, and can't comfortably recommend a product knowing this is the case and that others might receive them used also. If one wanted used products they could purchase them for a lot less, so they aren't a good value when you consider you received a used product as well.
