The Granny Square Card Deck: 50 mix and match designs

I am an experienced crocheted and this deck of Granny Square patterns was perfect!! I liked it so much that I purchased a second set for a friend who also crochets. The pictures are crisp, instructions and charts are clear and detailed. It's a great addition to the crochet collection of patterns for anyone who knows the craft.

I bought this set looking for a granny square pattern for something that looks like a pansy flower. It has many different patterns for a granny square. The picture on the front of the card, made of heavy cardstock, looks like an actual picture of the finished square. The back of the card has symbols for the different stitches one would use in making the granny square pictured. There is a booklet included that decodes these symbols. Easy to use once you understand the symbols. I would purchase again as a gift for a crocheting friend.

Great set of cards, great for teaching my crochet class.

I bought this deck to learn how to crochet granny squares. I consider myself to be at an intermediate level. I was not aware these squares gave directions in a crochet chart. That threw me for a bit of a learning curve. I don’t recall how well I paid attention to the reviews. The booklet included took some time for me to understand. For my questions not answered by the booklet, I watched some YouTube videos, I was able to hack the code. This deck has several stitches I was not familiar with, so I consider that a plus because it taught me new stitches. If I couldn’t figure the stitch out, I went to YouTube in search of a demonstration. Looking through the cards, I found my favorites and stitched them up using Caron Simply Soft. I think they turned out fairly well. I stitched the first square using the chain method for the foundation and didn’t like the large hole it left at the center of the square. Perhaps my technique wasn’t great, so I switched the found chain to a magic circle on the second square and was much more pleased with the results. I give this a 4 star only because I think the booklet should include the written directions for those who have never used a crochet chart for better understanding. I have already recommended this box to a friend who wants to try crochet. I think she would pick up the chart instructions fairly easily.

You have to make sure you know how to read the graph patterns but once you learn the set is amazing

These cards are so fun. I have been doing granny squares off n' on for years with a multitude of crafting books with granny square patterns, have created many of my own but decided to see what these cards had to offer and found many patterns I had never seen before. Looking forward to trying these patterns out for blankets for my great grandkids! It's always nice to find something new to do. These cards are made so well and the colors are vibrant; instructions simple to follow. Perfect gift for someone just starting out in this craft!

Not only did they deliver to the wrong house, but don’t be like me expecting there to be written instructions on how to make the squares. It’s a chart and they give you a user guide that tells you what the symbols mean. I’m sure I can figure it out but it’s just not what I was expecting

What a cute gift for my crocheting mother. She will love the various patterns and very easy to follow instructions. Creative patterns, convenient packaging to store.

I love using these, especially for inspo. Once you get the hang of one of the designs, it’s easy to adapt it to your preferences. Instructions are super clear and the design options are essentially limitless. I know some people have said they found the cards disappointing because some were duplicates, just with different colors, but I haven’t found any, they all seem to be different.

Great collection of granny square patterns with matching sizes to make various items. Handy to carry around a smaller craft bag. Includes an explanatory small manual. Nicely presented & I bought a 2nd set for a birthday present.
