This is a good kit with wonderful instructions. It has enough to get you started and give you a good idea how this all works. Then you can take what you learn and expand. There is everything you need to get started including some bowls to practice on as well.The pictures of from my first attempt. During this process I discovered things that will make it go easier next time. First thing to note, is that the resin they use was curing much faster than they described. In the instructions they say to take your time. Well yes, but not that much time. Also mix very small batches of glue/resin. I think it cures faster in larger batches. I think I got only one paper bowl, but as I am writing this I realize they may be stuck together. Still I found it much easier to get some cardstock out to use as a worksurface and mix directly on that.Another tip: try re-assembling every piece a couple at a time as a dry run first before gluing. They do suggest something like this in the book but it bears some more context. First of all if you lay everything out so you have an idea the order they go together, it makes things simpler. But also some breaks have angles and must be fitted together in a certain order to be more flush. While I did make sure I knew where each piece went, I did not think about the order I need to place them and so at the end, the pieces were not fitting flush.I also tested out the epoxy putty. I purposefully left out a small piece so I could fill the space with putty. It works pretty well. I would like to know how better to smooth it. I could keep writing tips but this is a review, not a tutorial.This is a really great kit. Good instructions and opportunities to learn and improve are included. There is plenty of material for a good project or two even after you practice on the 2 included bowls. There are a couple of improvements or clarification I would make to the documentation which relate to my tips above, but I like many, learn best by experiencing it myself.My skill displayed in the pictures may not paint this in it's best picture, but really I am struggling to find a reason not to give it the best score, but I think I am failing in that. This is a great kit!

Recently I purchased 2 cups from a charity shop, as with any impulse buy I didn't thoroughly check to see if there was any cracks ...arriving home I realised one of the cups was..I have read about kintsugi before when I was doing my art degree so I headed to amazon to see if there was such a kit and landed upon this one. Easy to use, the right tools to do the job and enough to apply to more cracked items. Don't hesitate Just buy!

I've been fascinated by kintsugi, so I was happy to find a kit that contains everything you need to try it. The packaging is nice enough that it would make a good gift, and everything you need is included. The instruction book has good illustrations and careful directions.The kit comes with two little practice bowls. I do wish there had been some advice on how to break them without ending up with a very challenging project. My first attempt resulted in breaking the bowl into 17 pieces, so I ended up with a very tricky jigsaw puzzle.

This was quite handy her repairing a reasonably old bowl that had been in my family for over 30 years and unfortunately due to clumsiness it was broken I kept the parts just in case and this kit was quite handy in bringing it back to a useful standard.Relatively simple to use the instructions are quite clear that clean the edges of the item one thing to be stuck together mix and the ply wipe off any excess let drive 24 hours ect.I assume it's a form of epoxy resin but it did work rather well.
