Mesh grip is helpful, not sure it's nylon webbing
9-12-23 The mesh texture as opposed to the traditional smooth tubes, definitely makes this easier for someone to hang onto. The length, at close to 48" is just long enough for 2 adults to hand off from the same side if needed, but its tight. It has excellent buoyancy for even 2 heavy weights, one at 205lbs the other at 300lbs to hang on without sinking in the deep end. This primarily lives at my private pool, where it gets used similar to a pool noodle for recreation and as weight resistance for water work outs. Although it does serve it's main purpose when volunteering as a lifeguard at the local community pool/splash park. I prefer to use and maintain my own equipment since I'm practiced with it and know it's condition, no surprises. And yes, thehigher ups approve of it's use. This hangs off a hook in my pool enclosure, in full sun and elements exposure. While the listing states the webbing is nylon, I'm pretty sure it's polypropylene. I work with thousands of yards of many variations of nylon webbing, this definitely doesn't have the look or feel of nylon. But it does look and feel as though it's polypropylene. If I'm correct, this stuff degrades rapidly in the heat and sun, then when you go to use it, the strap falls apart and turns to dust in your hands. I will be going ahead and replacing the webbing with a known nylon, then hang this out in the elements to see if it degrades. I'll report my findings on this. I might be wrong but don't think I am. One last gripe, you might think it's made here in the states, but it's not. See my shared photos.Hopefully this was helpful, Thank you!

Another Sturdy gear for open waters/pool safety
This is the “medium sibling” (50” in size) of the “big brother” (53” length) that was reviewed some time ago. The only differences are its length (50”) and that this model does not have a “cutaway groove design” (ergonomic grip), and instead is a simpler, straight tube, however both floaters are 6” wide. It came with a wearing nylon strap with loop and buckle that is adjustable for a comfortable fit during swimming and handling and the reinforced tab end points of strap to the floater body is reinforced and up to the task. Buoyancy rating isn’t indicated in the description by the seller, but I guess that it will surely surpass 100+ newtons. The manufacture looks of high quality and materials well chosen for the application. The closed-cell high density foam encased in a nylon mesh and fully covered in polyurethane and finished with high visibility vinyl coating provide a sturdy area for good support, and an anti-slip surface provide at the same time easy “grab and hold” in wet conditions. All in all, this floater incorporates a careful and well thought design, and uses excellent materials so I bet that it will last a long time. This model is an excellent choice, -just slightly shorter-, but priced at almost 40% less than its big brother ($54 vs $74.99) so is good deal at this current value.Again, I like to add a little “improvement” suggestion to include an extra hook (carabiner clip) at the opposite end (short strap loop) so it can easily be adapted to form a “U” shape adjusting around the body and allowing a better, more secured “resting” position of the rescued person. Overall, a great product.(Reviewed by Handyman)

It's Very High-End; Nice Surprise!
Initially, I chose this item primarily for a Decorative Item. Red is my main accent color so win/win.I have big men in my family. 6'2 to 6'4. This thing is much larger than expected. I read the Specs but it so much more thick. It has a lot more weight to it than I expected. I felt good about the purchase, but it is always Buyer Beware. Not so here. It is something a professional Lifeguard would use. It is so well made that I am going to leave it in the pool. Far better for all than a Pool Noodle. I will no longer need to buy a frog log. Plus - It just looks cool. The ad states a mesh netting. If mesh is there, it is heavily coated. It was a concern that the mesh would not hold up to the scorching Florida hot spots and humidity. Also, pool chemical erosion. Many colorful rafts have faded miseably, far too quickly. I intentionally left it in the pool for a few days, before I wrote this review. It has been Hotter'n the Devils Armpits!Highly recommended on quality and aesthetics.

Professional Lifeguard Rescue Tube
This is professional lifeguard rescue tube that is a must have if you own a pool. The tube is bright red and emblazoned with word GUARD for all to see. The 50" rescue tube is perfect for home pools in the event that someone should experience a problem while swimming. The tube has straps on both ends that the swimmer can grab on to during a rescue. Also, this tube looks really good hanging on your fence around the pool. Overall, this is a serious rescue device that is a must for anyone with a pool.
