The best Tuners IMO- But Read below before Install
I love these because;1) they come in several finishes, and2) you can put the string into, cut it close (so no hanging piece of the string to stab you).3) You turn the thumb screw to hold/lock string. You don't have to tightened the knob very tight to make it hold. If you over tighten the smaller strings it will snap the string.4) If done right the string doesn't slip and looks very neat.If not using a locking tremolo I like to use "Big Bends Nut Sauce" to lube the nut slots.Order Advice:Different guitars have different height tuning posts, some have 3 different heights. Example for my fender I got the 2 high, 2 med, 2 low (they didn't sell them here). You will have to drill a small hole on the back of the headstock and need to be fairly good at it.Install Advice:These require a small holes to be drilled next to each of the main tuning peg holes. This is the tricky part, but doable. I suggest practicing on a spare piece of wood.1) Use the provided guide to mark where to small hole will go. I used a nail punch to create a small indentation. Use a nail if you don't have a nail punch. This helps guide the drill bit and keep it on track when drilling.2) Drill a pilot hole with a smaller than needed drill bit. I used a 5/64. Do this because a larger bit will slide around and you won't drill in the correct place. This small bit fits into the small hole from the punch indentation from step 1. Unless you have a drill press. Otherwise its very easy for the drill bit to slide and not drill into the intended target, unless you follow the above. I learned this the hard way and had to re drill the first two holes. Luckily the tuning pegs cover the wrongly drilled holes.3) Once you drill 1/4 depth or so with the smaller drill, then use the correct size drill bit to drill hole. I put tape on the bit to mark where to stop drilling. The tuning peg fit snugly. If not, then tightening the nut will hold it. I couldn't find the exact drill size and used the closet size.4) From here its easy. Put tuning peg, from the rear, in the whole making sure it fits snuggly against the head stock. Slide the cylindrical thread on the tuning peg from top of headstock, then nut and tighten.Best of Luck, Rock On!
