Solid and Secure, but Installation Could Be Smoother
I recently fitted the Hardver Polished Chrome Euro Door Lock Cylinder, and overall, I'm quite pleased with it. The polished chrome finish looks smart and adds a nice touch to my door – it feels sturdy and well-made, which is reassuring for security. The thumb-turn feature is particularly handy for internal doors, as it allows for quick locking and unlocking without needing a key from the inside. The high-security keys give peace of mind, and having five of them included is a great bonus, especially if you need spares for family members. However, installation was a bit trickier than expected, especially if you’re not familiar with fitting locks. A bit of patience is needed, but once in, it works smoothly. In short, this is a reliable, secure lock with a sleek look, perfect for UPVC, composite, or internal doors – just be prepared for a bit of a DIY challenge if you're doing it yourself!

A solid and heavy duty door lock, that has a thumb screw on the inside to open and close it.
This is a really heavyweight door lock (or cylinder rather) that looks great with it's polished chrome finish. However, as this is a cylinder that fits inside the door and has a 40/40 profile you won't be seeing much of it at either end, so the most important feature has to be the level of security. In all honesty I don't know much about how these locks work but I have been informed that the type of keys that come with this cylinder are normally for high security locks. The most important thing to ensure with these cylinder locks is that they will fit the profile of the door. This 40/40 profile is more common in Europe and I know that my particular door was imported from Europe so I knew it would fit. However, most doors in the UK have a thinner profile so it's really important that you get the size right. The reason why I went for this particular type of cylinder was because of the thumb screw on the inside to enable me to open and close it easily and quickly. Delivery drivers are so impatient these days that they start ringing the door for a second time if you don't open it quick enough. This cylinder also ensures that there's less wear and tear on the lock and therefore these tend to last longer. I would definitely recommend these to anyone, and also because they don't cost too much and are really easy to install.

High-Security Euro Lock Cylinder with a Sleek Finish
This lock cylinder is sturdy and gives me peace of mind knowing it’s high security. The polished chrome finish looks great, giving a modern touch to my door, and installation was straightforward. The multi-lock keys are a good feature for extra security, and the 80mm length fits perfectly for my composite door. It’s smooth to operate, and the thumb turn makes locking and unlocking very convenient. A solid choice for anyone looking to upgrade their home security.

Needs safety markings.
The build quality is solid with a top notch finish. No sharp or protruding edges or chips in the metal. The keys slide in and out so smoothly and noise-free so it's easy to use. Has a good weight to it and doesn't feel flimsy at all.My only gripe is that safety markings are missing so there is no way to find ond out how it will hold up against a plier or any tool that might cause damage. I used mine for an small walk in cupbaord in the shed and it's decent. I wouldn't feel safe using it for a main house door or the like. The price is slightly higher than what you can pay for a lock with high safety markings. This one is great but not for purpose.

Is it a high security lock?
This is a nice looking lock and having 5 keys for it is a bonus. The only mention of how well it will protect your property is in the heading where it calls it “high security” There are no markings on the lock nor anything on the box. There are no instructions.High security locks are stamped on the barrel with a kite mark and usually 3 stars. This indicates that the lock is anti-snap; can’t be snapped with a pair of pliers, anti-bump; a special key can’t be hammered into the lock, and anti-drill; a drill can’t be used to remove the barrel. 3 star locks have a host of other features, I’ve mentioned the main ones. A 3 star lock can be purchased on Amazon for around £20.00, a little bit more if you want a well known name. With this lock, for £24.99 you would be buying a nice looking lock with unknown safety features.

Seem good quality
The lock install was easy and there are no frills here so it’s a case of just swapping out the old barrel. Took about 10 minutes to install. The lock itself seems to lock and unlock nicely without unwanted resistance or noise.Seems to be good value for money!

High polished finish, it looks to be a quality lock.
Supplied in a basic box, as you would see with most euro cylinders. High polished finish, it looks to be a quality lock. You get the lock itself and five keys, with the lock retaining screw that you get with most euro locks, so everything you need. Easy to fit, we fitted to our summerhouse door where the keyed entry and the keyless internal lock works well, as there is no need for it to be locked from inside.Fitted well without issues, a bit longer than the existing lock but not a problem for us, just a bit more lock sticking out the face of the door.Keys insert and operate easily, they appear to be a high security type of key, but there is no rating information to determine exactly what standard they do meet, not an issue for us with our application but something to think about if security is a specific concern.Good for situations where the internal face does not need to be secured with a key.
