Lovely cereal
This is a review of "ELEAT High Protein Cereal - Choco Coffee Bundle - 4 x 250g Pouches - Healthy Cereal, Pre & Post Workout - High Protein & Fibre - Low Sugar, Vegan, Gluten-Free" This the third batch of ELEAT protein cereal I've ordered and they have all been lovely. My diet-conscious daughter has snaffled the lot of them. As well as being very tasty, she says the fact that it doesn't sweeten the milk just underlines how much better it is than ordinary cereal. Not that it makes any difference to the taste or quality of the contents, but the packaging is top quality. It is a lttle pricey, so I have dropped one star for that and for no other reason. - - - - - - - - - - Note: As a member of the Vine program I was supplied with this item free of charge. I will always provide an impartial and fair review of the product in question. My rating system is as follows: 5 Stars – an exceptionally good, high quality product with no perceived shortcomings 4 stars – a very good product that met my expectations 3 stars – a product which could be better in some respects, but is still fit for purpose 2 stars - a product with significant shortcomings, one which disappointed 1 star - an absolute disaster of a product that should not be on sale

Expensive chemical tasting
Unfortunately I am not really a fan. For £20 you get four bags that contain around 5 servings each. This makes it £1 a serving which is very expensive for cereal. That said. High protein foods are generally expensive, but it is hard to justify this cost on a cereal. The cereal itself reminded me of rabbit droppings in look, shape, size and colour. The chocolate flavour has a quasi chocolate taste albeit a little on the chemical side of things. It could do with being more chocolatey. I felt like heaping a scoop of Nestle milkshake powder on it for flavour but this would negate its low sugar qualities. One thing in its favour is that it is very crunchy and it retains that crunch even when it’s sat in milk for a while. This is definitely not a cereal that’s going to go soggy any time soon. I found it took me a long time to eat the bowl. Ot did leave me feeling quite full afterward but somehow not satisfied. It really needs a better chocolate flavour to make it more palatable. Could I eat this every day? No. It makes a change from having diet protein meal replacement shakes with a similar low calorie and carb count, but the flavour just isn’t my thing.

Crunchy till the last
These are actually not the first cereals from Eleat I have tried. The previous versions I tried was the Caramelised Biscuit version and here also the flavour "Chocolate Triumph" I have tried before. It is only the "Mocha Madness" I have not tried. One thing sticks in my mind as being consistent between Eleat cereals - they seem to maintain their integrity very well in milk. That is too say they stay crunchy throughout the time it takes to eat them. Personally I really like this aspect, although others may prefer their cereal to go mushy over time in the milk. These specific variants come in two packets each. There's four packs in the order, 2 each of - "Chocolate Triumph" and "Mocha Madness". I have reviewed Chocolate Triumph before and that review can be found here if you are interested: https://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R2ZDPUSNJD55Y1/ref=pe_1572281_66412651_SRTC0204BT_cm_rv_eml_rv0_rv although the spoiler alert is that I gave them a five star review! I point this out because there's no point me covering old ground. From here on out this review will focus on the "Mocha Madness" cereal predominantly. The four packs arrive in an outer cardboard box and once open I see they are a good size and come with resealable lips on them for freshness, which is quite a simple idea but an important one nonetheless in my opinion. The cereal itself takes the form of small brown balls and as I have alluded to earlier, they are crunchy and keep their consistency in milk extremely well. I very much enjoy this aspect, it is a big plus point for me. I confess I am not usually a big fan of coffee-related products - Tiramisu is one of my LEAST favourite desserts! So I tried this in the afternoon rather than risk negatively affecting my morning appetite...I have to be honest and say it didn't particularly float my boat, but it wasn't quite as bad as I thought. The coffee was a little milder which was definitely better for me than stronger! But hey, I kind of knew I wouldn't be a massive fan of the coffee variety as I'm not a huge coffee or coffee-flavoured fan in the first place. So who is to blame for this? If I knowingly ordered Coffee cereal knowing I probably wouldn't be very enamoured by it, can I blame Eleat when I am in fact not very enamoured by it?! I don't believe so. I'm going to give a five star review because I love the Chocolate Triumph variety, I am a big fan of how Eleat cereals maintain their crunchy consistency in milk and ultimately I think it would be unreasonable of me to knock a star off given everything I've outlined about how I feel about coffee flavoured things. Maybe you disagree, and that's fine, but I don't feel right marking down this product just because one of the two varieties is not 100% to my personal taste.
