Sidelines Sports Beginner Bob Skate

I really like the concepts of these skates. The blades are set wide apart which is great for my 2 year old. The only problem is when she falls or kicks her foot just right the straps come loose and the skate comes off. My hands get pretty cold by the time we are done from all the times I have to take my gloves off to put the skates back on.

Since the ice rink doesn't carry skates smaller than a size 10, I purchased these for my 2 year old. She currently wears a size 6 toddler shoe. They fit on with her size 5/6 snow boots at the smallest setting, and have plenty of room to grow. I couldn't see purchasing skates in a size she might use once, over and over, so these are a good solution. The double blades don't help her learn to balance on skates, but she's only 2 so it helped that she didn't have that fear in addition to the new experience. She might not have wanted to try at all then! Other reviews complained about the straps coming undone, so I took duct tape along just in case. They didn't come undone at all. I did loop the extra strap ends up into her boot straps, don't know if that helped.

The skates are great, but learn from us and do NOT cut the straps. The straps are very long, and because we were worried about our son tripping on them, we cut them down. BIG mistake. We were on the ice for less than 5 minutes and the cut ends frayed and started to unravel!! We have replaced the straps (from a different source, not from the original supplier).

used the skates first time with my 3 year old. the straps keep coming off every 15 minutes when i tighten it. the lock/buckle is plastic, everytime i lock it in place it comes loose. not worth the hassle. i have to kneel down every 15 minutes to tighten or put the skates back on her feet and the ice rink was crowded with others, it was hazardous to stop in middle of ice rink to fix her skates.

MUCH BETTER QUALITY AND CONSTRUCTION THAN OTHERS I LOOKED AT. AND FOR THE SAME PRICE AS THE OTHERS! EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR FOR MY 3YO GRANDSON. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE. SKIP THE OTHERS, THEY HAVE ISSUES WITH STAYING ADJUSTED AND THE QUALITY IS NOT NEARLY AS GOOD AS THESE.

My 2-yr old has been using them for about a year now. It's saved us the annoyance of having to hold him up on the ice. He seems to enjoy scooting around on them so I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

We bought these for our 2 year old hockey-obsessed son to help him learn to skate. We strapped on one skate to his shoe, were in the process of strapping down the second and BAM! the strap comes off. There was no way to keep the skate attached to the shoe safely after that. While the concept is good, and I remember seeing similar designs from other companies as a kid, I would never buy these again because they are just flimsy plastic and nylon strapping. You're better off finding a molded boot that is adjustable and has double blades to help your little one learn to skate.The vendor, however, was great with the return and issued a full refund. So, no money lost ... just lots of aggravation and tears.

not worth the money, hasssle, and hazardous.used it first time at thanksgiving. the straps kept coming loose since the buckle used to lock in place is made of plastic and keeps coming loose, so the skates keep coming loose every 15 minutesthe ice rink was packed with people and i had to kneel down in middle of ice rink to fix her skates every time.
