Excellent Story! Loved it!
I just finished this book and all I can say is "I loved it!" I had no idea where it was going in the beginning which is a plus for me. The story sucked me in from the very first page. This book was about love, something that we really have no control over. It's a study of what each person is made of, the layers, the textures, the experiences of life that make someone who he/she is. The author presented a detestable character, Angelo, someone who should be dismissed as an utterly disgusting human being but somehow, layers were peeled away to show who he really was and there was beauty in all his flaws. This is one of the best books that I've read in a while and I highly recommend it. By the way, I am dying for one of his sandwiches!

I received my copy of The Bid D Friday afternoon and had finished it by Saturday, I couldn't wait to know what was going to happen next. Reading about someone looking back on their life wishing they had made some changes put into perspective that maybe we should enjoy the little moments along the way more and appreciate what we have. Thank you Cliff for another great read!

A story worth reading...many times
It took me some time to finish this book. Not because it was difficult to read...because that is far from the truth. This story was so engaging that I had to limit my reading time to make the story last longer. I compare it to a fine wine. You savor the taste while you sip slowly so you can enjoy all the flavors it has to offer. "The Big D" had all the flavors of a well written story. The love that was shown with the characters and the suspense of the end made it a very good read.

The Author’s Words
I was driving through Iowa on the day that Prince died. I was feeling low as he was a star from my childhood and the radio announcer simply said: “What can you do? The big D comes for all of us.” The story formed in my mind, and I believe that you’ll enjoy the characters and how they examine their days.
