Very healthy plants!
I received 7 plants and they were packaged very well and were in great condition when they arrived. They have been in the ground for 3 weeks and they have been doing great since day 1. They're already covered in flowers and have almost doubled in size. They are very healthy. When I placed them in the ground, I made sure the hole was deep enough for the long roots to fully extend. I had some eggshell crushed into powder that I added to the soil and after planting I placed straw around them. I haven't over watered them, just make sure the soil stays moist, and I've covered them when it rains. I would highly recommend these plants!

Great Quality, Quick Shipping!
These came quicker than expected. Nicely packaged with good instruction on how to plant. All roots were healthy. I soaked them for one hour before planting. They seem to be taking very well! Growing quickly. I can't wait to see when they bear fruit. Would order from this company again!

Fast delivery and healthy bareroot strawberries (seascape variety for SoCal)
Ordered Seascape bare root strawberries (pack of 10 got 13 plants, NICE!!!) on the 4th of march 2025 from southern California arrived today tenth of march at around 4:30pm, handpicked nursery is based in benson north carolina so these arrived in southern California nice and quick was expected to arrive on the 13th of march 2025, the bareroot strawberries all look nice and healthy, no smell of rot no signs of rot and none looks completely blackened a very very good sign, each plant has sprouts of leaves from a healthy looking crown (this is very important) and are lighly covered in dirt (like uprooted plants that have been cleaned lightly with water) pictures taken are of the bareroot plants placed directly into a container with water crowns are not submerged as to avoid rot, will be immediately planted in the morning. Understand this review was made during the optimal growing season for growing bare root strawberries typically around late January to March in the northern hemisphere in southern california, i technically ordered these rather late but that is besides the point, the bare root strawberries came healthy and free of rot and i got extra plants, i highly suggest that the company continue this practice of adding extra plants whenever possible similar to a bakers dozen, if this is not possible then that is also adequate, i thank you for your potential mistake so long as i get the ordered amount of plants (10 plants in this case) i highly recommended ordering from this company for bare root strawberries consider me a potential recurring customer. From here on it is my responsibility to care for these plants, i hope at least half survive, will be updating this review in the near future.

Healthy, tough and works in hydroponic towers!
First time with trying to grow strawberries and NGL when I first saw them after arriving I was a little concerned š These are meant for dirt but I put them into a hydroponic tower and after a thorough and gentle washing of the roots (just because you donāt want soil in your hydro) I placed rockwool around them and dropped all 6 into growth ports and despite having to put up with a lower EC (less nutrients) due to having to cohabitate with leafy greens they still grew fast and started producing tons of berries. These plants seem very healthy and good quality. If your also putting them into hydro growth ports you might need to put strings around the stems simply because the berry weight can cause them to get bent over the hard plastic which wonāt be an issue for dirt.Supposedly simply dropping them unceremoniously into bright grow lights and hydroponic towers can cause āshockā but these lil hermaphrodites are super healthy and pretty tough. They even withstood my pump malfunctioning and drying everything out way better than everything else that nearly died. Definitely recommended!

Buyer Beware!!!!
Buyer beware!!!!! I ordered two orders (50 plants). 11 out of the 50 plants grew. I emailed Hand Picked Nursery but did not receive a response. I called and spoke to a gentleman that immediately started to get defensive and making excuses why that many plants CAN'T fail. He asked me to send pictures of the plants and area they were planted in. I did this and was told my drip system was too close to the plant. I explained to him I had another strawberry bed that is watered exactly like this one was and for two years that bed of strawberries has just done fine. All he could do is give excuses about why it can't be his plants. I've been gardening for 43 years and have used drip watering systems for 20+ years. I've had a few failures before but nothing like this. I will find another company to do business with. Buyer beware!!!!!

Great buy, hardy plants, great quality.
Great buy, planted them and could almost watch them break dormancy. They greened right up and started growing right away. It was comical how fast they responded.

Healthy plants
Would have received a 5 star rating because of quick shipping and all strawberry roots look great, but no planting instructions and no response from the seller when I reached out to them for instructions.

Beautiful plants! Arrived, planted, all thriving
These are beautiful plants. I did lose one to frost but the rest are doing great in my greenhouse. The photos are right after I planted them. Iāll try to remember to add an updated photo of their healthy leaves. I ordered them in winter, planted them in a sandy mixture, covered them with a frost cloth and they have their second set of leaves coming on after about 60 days. This is the middle of winter here so Iām very happy with their resilience. My greenhouse is not heated. I just keep the frost cloth on.
