Matthew finds himself, his talent and love for drawing after a visit to the museum. An inspiring story for children who can see how having a dream helps us to do something for ourselves and change the world we live in.

Leo Lionni books are classics and I am sad that I only recently found them. All of his books inspire the imagination of children and get them thinking about moral, or difficult issues (sometimes without them even knowing it).

Good book and good illustrations but too many adults theme. I think some children can handle adult themes depending on the child. You have to browse through this one before you get it for your child to see if the story is age appropriate. If your child can handle adult themes then by all means get it, if they are impressionable and can't don't get it.

I f you are a Frederick or Alexander mouse fan you will love this story. Beautiful pictures and a sweet story make this an enjoyable book for ages 3-9.

Great story to teach kids to chase their dreams!

I wanted to use this book for an introductory art project lesson for Kindergarten and it worked perfectly. A great addition to my art classroom library.

Lovely book used it for an inspiring art lesson the children in my class loved it and produced some really nice art work from taking their pencils for a walk!

自分が本当になりたいもの、心から楽しいと思えるもの、一生それを学び、努力することも厭わないくらい大好きなものを見つけるには、自分の心の声に耳を傾け、それを素直に聞くことが必要だと思います。ところが、現代社会では子どもたちにも外部（＝自分以外のもの。親も含む）から様々な情報が与えられすぎ、雑音が多すぎて、自分の心の声を聞くことが難しくなっています。自分が本当になりたいものを見つけ、それを叶えたMatthewはラッキーでした。（しかもなんと、その道で大成功しています。）Matthewのようにラッキーな人たちが現代の日本にももっと増えたらいいなと思います。

全てのページがとてもカラフルで綺麗です！主人公のねずみもかわいい！絵本って話の内容が読む前に分かってしまうことがよくあるけどこの本はそんなことありませんでした。最後の終わり方なんかもアーティスティック！読んだあと、アートの話ということもあり、私はなんだか不思議な印象を受けました。話の量としてはそんなに多くないんだけど絵も楽しめるしストーリー性もあるし、よくこれだけの話をこのページ数で描けたなと思います。ぜひ他のLionniの作品も見てみたい！
