They Work Indoors and Out
I used to use a similar product and had forgotten they existed. I use bug spray everyday. I'm the only one in the family who is bitten by bugs while I'm minding my own business, watching tv in my living room. Grrrrr!!! My hubby is bitten less than me but has been in the yard and at the boat dock. We both tried these bands and they work! Since I have skinny ankles, I was happy to discover that they fit mine, just closing on the first hole.At first, I put one on each wrist and ankle, which seems to be overkill, but I wasn't bitten. Then I started the routine of wearing one on the left wrist and right ankle. That seems to be the most effective strategy. I still put on Ranger Ready bug spray (unscented), then wear these too. I'm no longer bitten. With all the mosquito-borne illnesses now occurring in the US, some fatalities here in the Northeast, I believe prevention is imperative. It's quite convenient that each pack includes an additional repellent capsule. I'm very pleased with the mild Citronella scent of the capsules. We're going to FL in a few weeks and you can bet these are going with us.

The repellent pods pop out too easily.
There was a strong, though not unpleasant odor I assume was the main repellent for the mosquitoes. I think they worked pretty well, except for the fact that the beads pop out and you don't even feel them go. We lost several and ended up running out before the end of our trip. Each bracelet only comes with two. So you're forced to throw away the perfectly good bracelet when you run out of beads. I think this could be improved quite a bit by adding additional beads. And tightening the holder for the beads so that they don't come out without some effort. One bracelet would be sufficient for one person you'll never lose the bracelet.

Seems to help
These bands seem to help repel mosquitos. We get at least a few all-day uses out of each one. There's no crazy odor and the kids eventually don't notice the band so it's easy to keep on them.

Works Well
These mosquito-repellant bracelets work pretty well and are easy to use. It is nice that each of them is individually packaged so that you can open one at a time and not have to worry about wasting them. The main problem with these is that each package has an extra bug repellant bulb which either has to be used immediately or stored somehow.

Terrible odor
Based on the description, I didn’t expect this to have an overwhelming chemical odor. It is really bad. Intended to let my child wear this to school because he live in a high mosquito area and he has severe reactions to the bites. The chemical odor is so strong, there is no way he or the children around him could tolerate it. Surely something smelling so strongly of chemicals can’t be good for you. Can’t speak to the effectiveness.

Smell lightly like Citronella
These do not smell bad at all; in fact, you can't smell them at all from just a few feet away. They smell like Citronella. The capsules are NOT intended to be broken. I am wondering if the reviewer who had an issue with the smell broke open one of the capsules... that probably would make an overwhelming odor. These fit adult size wrists just fine, but there is no way you can get one around an adult ankle. Mosquitos find you by the carbon dioxide you exhale, the theory behind pretty much all mosquito repellent is having something that smells like something other than CO2 preventing them from detecting you. So far these are working pretty well, and they seem to last a long time, especially if you seal them up in their bags when you are done with them.

Helps, but doesn't stop mosquitoes from hovering
I think the smell is nice and does help reduce the amount of mosquitoes in the vicinity, but it doesn't actually stop them from hovering and buzzing in your ear. I've still been bitten by mosquitoes on the other side of my body. The bracelet itself is silicone with the capsule repellent. I don't think my wrist is that big, but I don't think there's a ton of wiggle room for those with larger wrists. There's a metal part that fits into the hole of the wristband. Once it's firmly in place, I haven't had any issue with the bracelet falling off. The capsule has popped out several times and I've managed to find it and pop it back in, but it's not reliable. I've slept with the bracelet on and in the morning, the capsule is in the bedding. I have a bracelet to my sister-in-law and the capsule was gone in 20 min of usage. Each individual bracelet does come with an extra capsule, but it's annoying to have to use a new one right away. All in all, it's helpful to use, but mosquitoes will still get you and the bracelet has design flaws. For the amount you get, you're going to have to replace these often. I'm going to have to pass on these and try something else.

Capsules fall out
I brought these to my trip where I knew I'd be outside dealing with tons of mosquitoes and I'm not sure they were really enough alone to keep away the mosquitoes, but they gave me better peace of mind when using these with a bug spray. They were a bit tricky to get on alone and the actual capsules did fall out sometimes. My dad ending up losing one of his that way. Other than that I would recommend them, but only as an add on. I don't think they're enough alone to keep the bugs away.
