Easy installation and child proof
Easy to install and opens both ways with ease. The locking mechanism is great for small children since you not only have to squeeze the handle to open but you need also to lift the swinging door. Even if they figure out the squeeze part it would be too difficult for them to lift the door. Yet is is simple and easy for an adult to manage. I got this mainly for my dog to keep her upstairs on the main level of the house. It is taller than other gates so it is impossible for her to jump over. I recommend this gate highly.

Works well once installed, does self close if not fully open
When this arrived it was packaged nicely in the box. There are no instructions included. There is a warning label that is zipped tied to to where the gate is kept closed that tells you not to remove until you have this installed. This is due to how this is made & the free arm is very strong when it pulls away. Not too much of an issue if you are going to leave this in place. If this is for temporary usage, this strong spring affect can be cumbersome to overcome. Although we have had similar of these gates, none were so strong with this arm wanting to push away. There were 2 extra heavy duty zip-ties included so you can strap this in place when moving / removing. The included side extenders are very free fitting. There are some silver steel brackets you can use to hold these in place. (I think the silver brackets against the black metal looks a little off)Same goes for the screw adjusters / tighteners you use to squeeze this in place. There are some additional pieces you can screw into you wall / doorway where the plastic pieces would contact. These don't thread into the ends, so you can have several loose pieces you are trying to get into place before you tighten this into place. There are also slots in the wheel you turn to tighten things up so you can place a flat bladed screwdriver into these if you need extra leverage.Once installed & tight enough for the latch to catch, this stays put & latched until you squeeze the top & bottom of the latch. When you have the gate fully open (can go in either direction) it does stay open. Once you start to swing this closed, it will self close & latch. We are using this at the top of our stairs for when we need to keep our dogs on the top level while workers are on the bottom level or in the back yard as there is a doggie door down there they use.So far this has worked as we wanted, just a pain to zip closed the door every time we want to then remove & put away until next time.

Heavy duty solid gate
Well built sturdy gate with heavy duty locking latch. You have to press both the top and bottom buttons, then lift up to open the gate in either direction. Once opened, the gate will auto close, which is great when you hands might be full carrying something. To have this strength to take toddlers shaking on the gate or dogs crashing into the gate, there is a solid bar joining both sides and each side is held in place with a screws to spread it open to squeeze against the walls in opposite sides. The lower bar could be a tripping hazard if mounted in certain places, like the top of the stairs. But if the gate is place on the floor level of the bottom of the stairs and the gate only swings away from the first stair, then the lower bar wouldn't even be noticeable as it would be resting almost against the lower first stairs. In hallways, you'd need to slow down to open the gate, and thus stop over to walk thru the gate. So, no tripping in hallways. So just keep this bar in mind on the gate placement.Fit and finish are good and all hardware is provided. There is no drilling into walls to mount this gate.

Great baby gate easy installation
This baby gate fits perfectly to the entryway to my kitchen. The installation is easy and straightforward. No additional tools or drilling needed to install this baby gate. The baby gate is firm an sturdy and should keep my child away from the kitchen for a few years. The gate do swing both way so it's easy to go in and out without too much of hassle.

Solid gate!
The media could not be loaded. Great little gate, not super tall at 29 inches, but it gets the job done at keeping the baby out. If you have dogs that jump, you may need a taller gate. This gate is solid, the bars are sturdy, and the locking mechanism is well designed. It comes with a doorway and stairway mounting option, and I love the fact the door opens up in both directions. The auto close feature works, and it closes securely with very little assistance. Also as a bonus, because the gate requires me to push the button then lift the whole gate up and out to open it, my toddler (who had figured out just simple button push openings) hasn't figured out how to open this gate yet. He knows to push the button, but can't handle the part of picking the gate up and swinging it out to open it.My only complaint is that the side extender screws used to pressure extend the gate into the wall, or provided wall mounted holders, are very very short. So while with past gates I was able to place the gate alone in the doorway and extend the side screws farther out into the wall, these were too short to do so, and I had to use a provided extender panel and securing bracket to allow the gate to extend fully across the doorway. Even with the extra panel, the screws were extended rather far out to get to the wall, and the double panel provided was too big for the opening. Longer screws would solve this issue. If I measure the extender screws diameter I may see about getting longer generic replacements that will still fit the gate holes. This would fix the issues caused by short adjustment screws and awkward old doorway sizes in my house.
