It's got a good quality paint finish and seems to be a robust product. But l think the positive and negative effects from the wind pressure might make the flap operate maybe noisily, l will have to wait and see. But it's far better than the usual grill they sell for them.

What a pile of crap, no magnetic strip as stated in description!flap doesn't cover hole when closed! Ready for the bin and it's brand new!!!

I was a bit surprised by how well made and finished this vent is. Nicely weighted steel plate that's completely covered in matt black paint with no bare edges or surfaces. I was also a bit worried that the flap would be a bit heavy and not work properly but, in use, it worked perfectly. Simple to fit, well made and well finished, much better than plastic.

Very nicely made cover.It is powder coated metal.The vent's tunnel piece has a small tab on three sections to allow it to grip its tunnel.Behind the grid is a flap which can push open when it gets any airflow behind it and the outer part is sloped to keep out rain etc.Well be using this on the vent hole outside the kitchen to prevent rain coming in as our extractor tunnel isn't very long.I think this would keep wasps out of a vent too.You do need to have a fan of some kind pushing the extracted air to the outside else the flap will block off the air flow.There are holes in the 4 outer corners of the outside face plate and 4 screws and wall plugs to use with them.Circular tunnel piece is 3 and 7/8ths " diameter and 2 1/4" long

I ordered this vent for when we fit the tumble dryer at our new house so I haven't yet installed it. It seems very well made and looks like it will last for some time. We currently have a plastic vent which has served us well but it has discoloured over time, something that I don't think will happen with this metal one. I like the flap inside that will stop drafts coming through and also any bugs will be stopped crawling up the pipe; it moves freely and should allow the extraction of air quite easily.Probably more expensive than a plastic vent but should last and look better. Highly recommended.
