Accurately plays my old 78 rpm records
I am using this in a Danfi Audio compact suitcase style record player and it was an easy swap from the normal stylus. The needle appears to be the correct geometry. I am a bit disappointed with the fact that the cantilever portion of the needle is plastic instead of metal, but this may be a design detail that ensures the needle doesn't place too much force on the records. Old 78 rpm records were designed to use soft steel needles with a carefully rounded tip, and they were supposed to be replaced after six or so records to ensure the steel didn't lose its spheroid shape and start digging into the record. The reason so many old 78s hiss and click is that they were damaged by worn out needles. I found a few records that my parents and grandparents must not have played too often and those records sounded pretty good using this stylus. It's a little pricey, but then, it is a niche product so there are no economies of scale at play.

Perfect fit for Victrola VTA-200B 6- in - 1
I recently acquired a large collection of old shellac 78's and was made aware that the stock stylus in a Victrola VTA-200B Was not ideal for playing shellac 78's . I upgraded to this stylus and they sound much better and play wonderfully. This stylus is a perfect fit for the Victrola VTA-200B and was very easy to install.

Worked fine.
Wanted a way to listen to parents and grandparents antique 78's. This needle will not damage them, like a standard needle would. It does fine, considering the old albums are not in perfect condition. Sound is as decent as can be expected.

For playing 78s on a cheap turntable
I've got a really cheap Wockoder turntable that I only bought because it has three speeds. I've got better turntables for playing vinyl. This one I only use for 78s. It has pretty much identical hardware to the entry level turntables by Crosley and Victrola. I had been using the standard, red Crosley style stylus that came with the machine because I had never successfully changed a stylus before and didn't know what I was doing. Finally I bit the bullet and decided to swap into a wider stylus for 78s.It was easier to install than expected. Here's how you do it. Hold the tone arm in one hand, and with the other hand use your thumbnail to push down on the front of the red piece. Once that red piece snaps down, slide the whole piece out of the tabs that hold it in the back. To install the new stylus, do the opposite. Insert the back, and then snap the front. Easy.I'll be honest: At this not-exactly-audiophile price point of turntable, I don't hear much of a difference. There may be just slightly less noise than with the stock LP stylus, but it's not much. It doesn't sound clearer or brighter or deeper. Just a tiny bit less noise. But I'm glad I made the change because I know I'm putting less wear on the grooves of the 78 records now.

Better than expected
This needle is even better than expected. I was expecting it to have a plastic cantilever as pictured in the listing, but this just arrived and it has a metal cantilever which is better than plastic. I was worried that it would be the same 33 needle I already had, but when I switched it it absolutely is a 78 rpm needle! The sound quality is superb when playing my old 78s that I picked up at my local Goodwill! I haven’t even cleaned the 78s yet because I don’t want to ruin them, but just the difference of the 3mm needle filling the grooves is huge. Thanks so much

It works on victrola all in one record player for shallac 78 rpm's.
I bought a Victrola all in one record player for my 78 rpm records but learned later the needle it comes with is for vinyl records not shallac. I wrote to Victrola and they responded their record players are only for vinyl and they didnt sell the needle for shallac records. I coulnt find any other info so I tried this needle and it worked!
