M-Wave Frame Lock with Chain, Black

I love the versatility of this lock system, so I can spend more time to lock securely based on the neighborhood. I live in a urban area where theft is prominent:- For quick stops in safer areas, I just just use the rear tire flip lock- For more security, I'll wrap the chain around a fixed object so the bike can't be carried away- For longer periods or particularly unsafe areas, I'll put the chain through the front tire and around a fixed objectSomeone burnt a portion of the chain cover off and attempted to cut through, but this was strong enough to prevent the theft or at least to deter them from taking my bike and move on to the next. Unfortunately this means the chain links can now fall through the gaps in my wire basket, but that is not the manufacturer's fault.

Perfect rim lock. With various types of uses. The ring lock itself can be used without the chain, perfect for quick stops. If you will park for longer I suggest you use the chain rope it comes with, loop the rope through the front wheel and then around a permanent fixture and your safe.The lock should fit any frame with minor or no adjustments needed.

You can sort of bolt this to your frame, but I also used 4-extra heavy duty zip ties to secure this to my rear stays. Fairly heavy weight/construction on a par with other cheaper Dutch style ring locks I've seen. The chain is extra long and frankly it's a bit much. Secures to the ring lock on the side opposite where the key goes in. Honestly, I would have chosen the cable version of this lock had I known the chain weighed as much as it does. Operates smoothly with a bit of WD-40.

I know how these locks work - I use them on the bikes I ride frequently in NL. This one is not of quality that I use there.This is just past the return window only used for a few weeks. The key is close to impossible to remove when locked. You have to lock h unlock several times and wiggle a bunch. Should just be removable when the latch is down.Don't waste your money. Spend extra and get an AXA.

Fell in love with this type of lock in Holland--had my bike shop install it since it doesn't fit most American bike frames--they charged 10 bucks and I still saved money vs. competitor locks!

Could not use on my trike was too small diameter for main lock shackle. The mounting hardware for the lock to the frame of the bike is a bit flimsy for a security device in my opion as long as the lock is inside the frame triangle it would still work but for those who mount outside the frame triangle (improper mounting may be required for some frames) you will return to find your lock broken away from the frame if it is not stolen.

The headline is correct. This lock is convenient, but there is much more to know: This lock's price reflects it's quality. It is good enough, but corners were cut. The chain is great for attaching your bike to a post, but a cable may be better as it would be lighter and not be as hard to package for silent transport. The lock also makes noise when you ride, so I added a shim to, between the rattling bits, to keep it quiet. Finally, fitment and mounting is not easy. It is no wonder the manf. does not say much. I had to make two steel plates to mount this successfully. Now that I have done all the work, I like the lock. It is super convenient. (See Photos)

Actually couldn't connect it to my bike out the box but was able to secure it with heavy duty zip ties. The two screws which I couldn't attach to my bike, came into action when i attached a rear rack to my bike. Now it's all sturdy, bolted together and in place. Great bike security even with it not traditionally installed.
