Nice to have all these together in one inexpensive package; they've been in heavy rotation while I work these past two weeks.

Great music. In backing up these CDs to FLAC I had some difficulty with the later tracks on CD3. Managed it eventually at a slow speed multiple.

A collection of varied albums from their earlier career, really worth the money.= there is little information in addition to the original sleeve, but going on-line is no problem.

If you like Jazz Fusion, you will like Weather Report.

jeweils 5 Sterne für jedes enthaltene Original-Album. Die Aufmachung der Box ist schlicht und einfach, aber der essentielle Inhalt ist genial.Weather Report lassen sich nicht einfach in die Jazz-Fusions-Schublade einordnen. Das Repertoire beinhaltet Elemente des Jazz, R&B, europäische und Wurzeln arabischer Musik und Folk - insgesamt also Weltmusik.Es gibt aus der Serie 'Original Album Classics' noch eine weitere 5-CD-Box von Weather Report. Unklar ist, warum SONY die einzelnen Alben nicht in ihrer zeitlichen Reihenfolge den beiden Boxen zugeordnet hat, sondern gemischt. Insgesamt sind aber die 10 bedeutendsten Studio-Alben enthalten, auch wenn z.B. auf 'I Sing The Body Electric' einige gekürzte Live-Mitschnitte untergebracht wurden. Aber so ist es auch auf der Original-LP von 1972.Die Aufnahmequalität ist sehr gut. Auf einer sehr guten Stereo-Anlage kann man sogar überraschend den Unterschied zum Spotify-Stream auf gleicher Anlage hören. Kauf ist also durchaus empfehlenswert.
