Work well and make not tying much easier
I love the fact that it encases the hook while you are spinning the not. No more accidental punctures. Makes tying fishing knots a breeze. The cutter on the back is a nice bonus though it isn't as nice as nippers. They are not high quality plastic, but at this price I'm not expecting high quality. It also means it doesn't kill me to lose or break one.

Simple, but useful concept
My two avid fishermen sons (age 10) were so excited to get these. We usually hook the hook onto a loop of their fishing poles, but those sometimes work their way off in transport or storage. They have also complained about tying their lines with the hook on there, so this seemed like an easy fix. We really only use smaller hooks for fishing so these work well for us. The quality of these really isn't great, but my kids end up misplacing and losing things often while fishing, so at least I don't feel like it's much of a loss if we happen to lose one or two. Some of the line-cutting edges were bent so far inward, they had to be bent back out in order to use. It's just like a dental floss cutting edge, which is definitely susceptible to being smashed if it's being transported a lot. Also, I found them to be a little annoying to open. I had to kind of dig my nail in to get a good hold to pop it open. I suppose that's a feature to avoid it opening inadvertently. The loop for attaching it to the rod is kind of odd and since there were no instructions, I tried to use photos from the listing as reference. But those are all photoshopped so it doesn't really accurately show the best ways to attach to the rod. I feel like if the loop opening was much smaller, it would make sense to snap it onto the pole, but the opening is quite large and in order to stay secure, would have to be snapped pretty far down on the pole. I have it hooked around one of the lower loops on the rod (see photo) which is pretty secure, though I would prefer to secure it somewhere higher on the rod to avoid that much line being let out as that just makes it easier to catch on things during storage and transport. But overall, having the hook covered is great for safety and my sons hate the responsibility of taking it off after each use, so they're really happy with these covers.

FANTASTIC VALUE & They Work GREAT!
I have the “name brand” version of this fishing tool and these, held side by side, against the name brand version and there is very, very little difference. That makes these, as an 8 pack, not only a great value but a feasible alternative that offers the same functionality and usability. The only differences that I could find would be that these snap together better…not a bad thing at all! …..and the line cutter on the back of a few of them had to be bent back out so lines could be inserted because they got pushed down during either manufacturing or handling of them. No big deal to me. Once the little metal tab is bent out to allow for the line to fit in the notch it cuts the line as expected. They work EXACTLY as I am used to and with the 8 pack now I can have all of my hooks covered on all the poles I have with me and have a few extras in the box for other rigs or future use.Not much more to say. If you know what this tool is and you use these then these would be recommended. I do not see any quality, construction, or material concerns with these at all. They work as they should and they are a great option for tying and hook covering. I like them a lot and I would order this pack again! A++++

Almost exactly like it competitor
I like this tool and its competitor and use them while tying hooks, snaps, swivels and in my DIY fishing combinations. The reason I gave it a three is that it is 'almost' exactly like the hook-eze. You have to look close to tell the differnce, but it works just as good. It is not the quality as the competitor, but is less expensive.

Good for safety, not so much for knot tying
I found these work well for my kids allowing them to leave the hook attached to their pole while safely securing the hook. Previously I would put the hook through one of the eyes on the pole, but when carrying the pole they would sometimes come free. I didn't find this so helpful in tying knots, maybe because I'm using smaller hooks such as #6 and #8. Even using the smaller holes the hooks still has enough wiggle that it makes it difficult for me to tie the line, although still much less likely to get poked by the hook.

Save your car seats!
I have been teaching the neighbors boys how to fish. I have been patiently trying to teach them how to tie their hooks to the lines, and these just made that job much easier. Knots become second nature to those of us who have been fishing for the last "I just realized" how many decades, but teaching and learning take time. Stick you hook in this, put your line through, give it a few spins, feed it back through, tighten the knot and cut the extra off with the back side! They are also great for transporting rods since the hooks stay covered.

Great Accessory for Making Knots ; Cheap Plastic Hinges.
✍️ This product spoiled me. It's one of those things where I never thought I would never need. Now that I have it, I can fully understand it's value. The safety aspect alone is an incredible value. I use it as a training tool for my nephews. I'm scared to death of them hooking themselves by accident. This tool allows me to train them safely on making clinch knots. The primary weakness is the plastic hinge. The hinge is really thin. It feels like it won't last long and it'll break in half. This order comes with 8 tools so these should last a while.🔺Pros :-Good for Training-Safety🔻Cons :-Cheap Plastic Hinge🏗️Design: 8/10💪Durability: 5/10🤖Functionality: 9/10💰Value: 9/10Star Rating :5⭐ - Product Exceeds Expectations4⭐ - Product Meets Expectations3⭐ - Product Meets Expectations with Minor Flaws2⭐ - Product Meets Expectations with Major Flaws1⭐ - Product Does Not Meet Expectations🙏🏻Thank you for reading my review❗

These work well for me
I have multiple fishing poles that I load out prior to a trip and these tools keep my hooks in place while traveling. I have not used them to tie any hooks yet, but I'm sure they will help if you have a hard time holding the hooks. I have seen different varieties of these and have never tried them, but I am glad I did. I would recommend this.
