If you like green tea, you will love this.
Some reviews talk about the flavour like it's totally different to normal green tea. It isn't. BUT it is like a super intense, rich, amazing, nourishing version of it!I hadn't tried macha before. I've always liked green tea, and had read about the health benefits of macha, so thought I'd give it a try.If you like green tea, you'll love this. It doesn't have that drying, tannic, bitterness that green tea can have if it's steeped too long, but the flavour itself is very similar. I brewed it as instructed on the can, and shook in a cocktail shaker to mix and make frothy (as someone else had suggested) If you just pour in water and stir you're in for an unappetising cup of green with some floaters in. Mix it up!The effects were amazing. Alertness without jitters, yet also calming. It literally feels like an injection of goodness.I thought it was a touch pricy, but you're only 'supposed' to have one or two a day, so it will go a long way. That is until I mix some with honey and slather it all over my face...that's epic, apparently!

It's also important to understand when you're buying matcha is that cheap matcha is very rarely good matcha! Matcha comes from a few Asian countries
I know a lot of people complain about the price of this tin, and I know it can seem quite small, but remember, you only need a small amount of powder to make a cup. It's also important to understand when you're buying matcha is that cheap matcha is very rarely good matcha! Matcha comes from a few Asian countries, but you want your matcha to come from Japan. The more expensive ones will have more buttery, smoother textures and blend much more nicely in the cup. There are a lot of brands on Amazon, so I decided to spend a bit of time doing research before purchasing. A lot of the brands I was more familiar with were only available through Amazon's US website, but luckily this one is for sale here in the UK. I saw Midori Spring on a few of the matcha blogs I checked out and from what I read and what I tasted myself, this one seems to be a good beginner matcha!Obviously you'll get better results using a bamboo whisk, but if you're in a hurry, you *can* use an electric one and it'll still have a lovely flavour to it. And always remember, if you've got questions or are feeling particularly uncertain about a brand, there's loads of matcha blogs out there, so just search a brand and you'll find loads of info! :)

One of the best Matcha powders I have tried!
I am by no means a matcha expert but this is some of the highest quality matcha I have had.I bought this to try alongside another, slightly cheaper, brand to see if I could tell the difference and whether it was worth paying the extra for this one.The difference is night and day! The colour of this matcha is a much deeper green and smells fresh with no off odours whereas the other brand has a lighter colour and almost has a faint fishy smell in the jar.I don’t have the best palette so won’t go into what I taste in the cup but I 100% prefer the taste of this matcha over the other I bought and others I have tried. If you are into your matcha and haven’t tried this one or if you are thinking of trying matcha I would definitely recommend trying this as the difference in taste between this and some cheaper brands is surprising!

Tea-rific...except for the price
UPDATE: This is my second time ordering this product. What follows is a copy of my previous review:I've tried several less expensive matcha teas, and thus far this tops them all. Usually I don't buy into luxury brand hype, frequently finding cheaper alternatives of equal quality, however there is a noticeable difference between this and the cheaper teas. This tea's colour is as vibrant as in the photo, whereas others were darker and duller; it has a light, naturally frothy texture, requiring only minimal agitation to foam up wonderfully, whereas others were the weight of flour, and took a certain amount of whisking in return for only minimal froth. But the proof of the pudding is in the eating, as they say, and oh boy does this tea taste good—none of the bitterness of the cheaper teas. Now, as a hardened caffeine addict accustomed to at least 1000mg daily (in plain English, over twice the upper limit), I can't say I noticed much of a difference drinking only this (I had 2 flat teaspoons, spread out over 4 drinks, over as many hours). As matcha tea (any matcha tea) is slow release caffeine, its effect is subtle, spread out over several hours rather than giving a peak and then trough. For non addicts, this may be just the ticket to a jitter-free perk-up; if you're used to as much caffeine as I am, however, it's unlikely to provide the kind of fix you're looking for (but that's not the product's fault), but the lack of jitters somewhat compensates for it.The only criticism I have of this product is its stratospheric price, and the reason I've docked one star. 30g really doesn't go very far, either—a fortnight maximum. Too bad, because I'd definitely be a repeat customer otherwise.
