So I took my 3 kids (they are teenagers to clarify) down to the river to do some magnet fishing. I had purchased two of these kits.On the first throw.. my eldest son didn’t realize that he forgot to secure the line (while my back was turned and helping my youngest son) and we lost the first magnet. On the first cast!Okay..deep breath.. not a problem, boys have to share now. After 30 minutes we move to another spot. 15 minutes there and the other magnet had unscrewed from the snap/line. So we lost both magnets within an hour of each other.We had a good laugh, all in all it was a good day.The kits were great with all the different accessories.

Haven't been able to use it yet, but from what I see so far, its a great kit.

Bought to locate a lost anchor and chain.It is very strong and clung to the anchor chain enough that I could swim down and retrieve the chain & anchor.I glued the lifting eye into the magnet using thread locker (see other reviews) and used paracord as my retrieval line.The bad: It rusted and not the chrome is peeling off. I rinsed it off but it did not stop the rust. If I had to do it again I would most likely dip it in plastidip or something like that to try and preserve it or maybe store it in oil to keep the chrome from peeling.It saved my $300 bucks worth of anchor and chain so it has paid for itself several times over.

I was reading some of the negative reviews on how weak this magnet is so, like a fool I got a magnetic item and, while holding it, approached the magnet.The magnet snatched the item out of my hand with tremdous force, pinching the crap out of my finger. And it was a bit of a struggle to pull off.DON'T TEST THIS MAGNET WHILE HOLDING THE MAGNETIC TEST PIECE IN YOUR HAND. That was a self correcting era.I'll be darn if I believe negative reports again on everything.I hope it doesn't find anything that is 660 lbs to attach to. Both the magnet and item will stay in the water.Very fast shipping. Thanks so much.

I purchased this HUGE magnet to use on fishing trips. I frequent several public waterways in the summer to fish, and I have been watching a lot of magnet fishing videos on YouTube, and finally decided to try it out for myself. While browsing for another magnetic product, I came across this beast, and added it to my cart! I've used it three times now, and so far have only found an old iron pipe, but I am sure I will score something cool one day.

It's not a strong magnet the rope is not strong enough.

When I got the magnet I immediately placed the magnet on my lawn mower deck..it came off with ease. The design is great and holds a great concept of throwing it in the water and while pulling it back to the shore it will stay on its side picking up hidden debris that most magnets won't find. The strength of the magnet itself was quite disappointing. I also noticed one side is stronger than the other. I was able to pull in small items but as for it coming right off of my mower deck without any resistance was kind of a let down. Other than that I have no other issues.

We bought this fishing magnet to use in a YouTube video for our family friendly channel Planet Funhouse. It did not disappoint. It’s very strong and easy to use. We were able to find and pull out everything from railroad stakes to 3 ft pipes to parts of washing machines. It was amazing and we can’t wait to go out again and help clean out our rivers and streams.

i threw the manet off the bridge and the i felt a tug, i though it caught on something but the i figured out it was stuck on the bridge, i pulled from 30 minutes just to get it unstuck and for several minutes t held my body weight.

Is this the strongest magnet? No...But i can tell you it will pull a 3 lb sledge hammer out of 30 feet of water without issue. And with a few tries we got our 8lb hammer back to...As a recovery tool this thing is top notch. If you are looking to pull bike frames out magnet fishing... you probably want something stronger.

This product is great for beginners just learning I managed to pull up small stuff like nails and a bigger metal bar that was at least 10 to 15 lb not very strong in water with current

I’ve tested it on good peace’s of steel and I don’t think it could lift more than 20 pounds.I’m very disappointed

Basically. The magnet is very weak and small. There is no gloves or rope with it. Of course, this item isn't refundable nor having any king of support. I encourage the vendor to contact me so I can change this review.
