Thoughtfully designed and appears well made
This backpack from Db Journey is generally well thought-out and had some great features. The bag's layout is one of its top selling points. With a wide open main compartment that opens fully for easy of access. There are zippered compartments on the side as well as two individual zippered compartments in the cover. There's also a separate compartment that opens from the outside for laptop storage, which doesn't connect to the main section. There's also a smaller, separate compartment on the top which is perfect for something like headphones. The zippers are smooth but, surprisingly, unbranded. At this price point I would have expected YKK or SBS zippers. There are some hooks on the back that, at first, felt like a wasted aesthetic choice. However, I took a look at Db Journey's website and saw that these hooks are designed to connect multiple bags. In this case, other bags would connect to the tight loops on the front that I'd assumed were sunglass loops.I haven't had the chance to really put this bag through its paces. Something like this, you don't really know if it's worth the price until you've used it for a few years. So far, I'm happy with it and am hopeful that it's built to last. It's only time and use that will tell though, so I'll update this review either 1) when I remember after a couple years of good use or 2) when something goes wrong. Hopefully it'll be the former!

Comfortable and holds a lot of gear
I like this backpack a lot. I would love it if they were to make adjustable inserts so I could use it for my camera gear, that would be awesome!! This is really nice though, the way it contours to my back. I like the materials and the zipper is smooth. It looks to be very water resistant. In slight rain, I believe the contents would stay dry. I have yet to test that out. It has a lot of room and if you use something like luggage bags, this can organize a lot of stuff. To keep the zipper in it's best condition, it's a good idea to run a little bit of wax along the zipper. We did this in the Army, and it keeps the zipper operating smoothly and water resistant for several years. I would recommend this pack, it's good quality and comfortable.

Nice but not worth the asking price
The Db Journey 20L backpack is a well-made, well-designed, simple backpack without frills. The front of the pack opens up on three sides like a small suitcase, giving easy access to all contents. This also makes it easier to pack the pack. There is no dedicated laptop sleeve that I could find. The main compartment is just a hollow space with one small zippered pocket at the bottom end of the front flap. The pack is well padded on the back and comfortable on the shoulder straps, and it is designed to sit close to the body. There is a small top pocket with a zipper about the size of a thick sandwich. You can easily store headphones, cellphones, keys, or other essentials in that pocket. The one thing I didn’t understand was the “roller bag hook-up system”. I thought it hooked to any other suitcase roller bag, but there is not a strap for that on the backpack. This bag only hooks up to other suitcases made by Db Journey with special hooks that are built into the shoulder straps. I had to go to their website and watch their video to understand what they meant by this hook up system. It is unique and effective, but you need to be a dedicated buyer of their products to use this system. There is a finger grip at the top of the front to lift the bag from the front, and a loop to lift it from the back. I would say that the price point of $200 is quite unreasonable for this bag, though, and I would not pay more than $80 for it. It is too simple, with no extra compartments or padding for anything, not even a water bottle. In sum, it is nice, but not worth the asking price.

Simple Classic Bag
This DB Journey Hugger is a very specific kind of bag. It is designed to go along with DB Journey's other bags and has the ability to easily be clipped on. This is a huge selling point of this bag, as if you don't have the DB Journey system parts of this design are going to be lost on you. One of the things that really stands out about this bag is that it's not the kind of bag to stuff a lot of things in a lot of different pockets. It has one main cavity which can be accessed from the back of the bag, and one top compartment which doesn't connect with the larger cavity. That's it. You won't find laptop sleeves or side pockets. This is a streamlined and simple bag. I found it's good in the space of an airline carryon roller bag and holds just as much stuff. I've used packing cubes and other organization pockets (like Alpaka) to compliment the bag. It feels great and is light weight but it's a very specific kind of bag, and if it fits your need it's awesome.

Chique but small
This backpack’s durability and structure are top-notch it holds its shape even when empty, and the materials feel premium enough to survive daily abuse. However, the size is wildly overestimated. Despite claiming to fit a laptop, my 13-inch device barely squeezed in, the main compartment feels has alot of space. The organization pockets are clever.

Nice and all, EXCEPT....
Style is nice and bag itself is mostly comfortable. The Zipper quality is superb. This is great to travel with and has a ton of room, and akso has different sizes to choose from with the size bag you're wanting. Overall it's ok, the issue is the price. Looking at others I just don't seem to understand why it's so highly priced. Others are less and equally as nice. Definitely wouldn't order again and that being said, sadly I also couldn't recommend it, unless there was a big discount

Great student/traveler laptop bag
The straps and stitching are all sturdy. The zipper is fine. The padding seems quite sufficient to protect my laptop. Fits my 13" Macbook just fine.
